In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world.
With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a merino wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering.

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.
INSULATES WHEN WET
Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.
UV PROTECTION
Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.
RENEWABLE
Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Very nice sock used for skiing and general snow play. It is thicker than my usual socks, but not so thick that it cramps my foot in my boots. When it's dry, it is very warm. My son's got wet and his feet got cold. A few minutes under a hand dryer fixed the problem.

Bought these socks for my boyfriend for Christmas.He does a lot of different activities (climbing, hiking, snowboarding, riding a motorcycle, etc.) and he uses these socks for just about everything. He LOVES them...I was nervous buying socks from Amazon, but they fit well and their quality is great. He continuously thanks me for them and tells me that they're his most comfortable and useful socks. They come up below the knee and don't slide down.Very pleased. Especially considering the low price - quality was not compromised!

These socks were great! Bought enough pairs for my husband and I to wear on a recent ski trip. Kept our feet toasty warm. I have been skiing for several years now and my experience has been icy feet and fingers. Wow, not this time!! Would buy again. I wear a women's size 10 so these socks fit great.

Worthless... I used a pair of these socks gently (no major hiking) for one month in 2017 in Alaska, along with seven other different pairs of wool and wool blend socks. I have now used this pair for 10 days on a trip north this winter to visit family. Both Minus 33 socks now have large holes in the heel pad area, i.e. bottom of sock. My other wool socks I purchased for my 2017 Alaska trip show little to no wear. All my adventure socks have always been hand washed and air dried. Living in Florida, as I do, my wool socks only get occassional use. I have Meriono Wool socks that are still functional after five plus years of occasional use......and have been using wool socks in outdoor adventures for nearly 50 years. Minus33 Merino Wool socks are not a good sock line for a company that produces some excellent products. Disappointing to say the least! have large hole in the heel pad.

Wear 9.5 us and they are perfect. Knee high warm and very comfortable without been too thick which is good in snowboard boots.
