We used this to brake a go kart with a one inch solid axle with a quarter inch keyway.I was initially concerned that there was damage to the brake band (shown in the photo) but it turned out to be fine.The nuts that connect the brake disc to the axle hub have nylon inserts to stop them from spinning loose. The cable is free moving, and the grub screws that hold onto the brake band pin are solid.Overall, it does a great job for the price.

I was looking to upgrade my brakes on my Drift Trike, this looked like a simple way to quickly upgrade the brakes easily.The kit comes with the brake drum, brake band, brake pin, sprocket hub, two set screws (for the sprocket hub), bolts for the brake drum, brake cable and sprocket hub.The quality is ok, the brake linings also look fine and are glued to the brake band adequately.The item fitted to my 1" live axle with no issues, you will need to fabricate a 3/8" round bar to secure the brake band to the drift trike/go kart chassis, but that's pretty straight forward with a welder.My biggest issue was bolting the Brake Hub to the sprocket hub. The supplier provides four nuts and bolts together in the kit. The supplied nuts and bolts are way to small to bolt them together effectively. The holes that align with each other between the Brake Hub and sprocket hub are about 8mm's in diameter, where as the supplied bolts and nuts are only 6mm's in diameter.This means that you will never effectively tighten the bolts and nuts to secure the Brake Hub and sprocket hub together.I had to find a set of four 8mm diameter bolts and nuts to rectify the problem. It's not a huge issue, but I don't understand why the supplier doesn't provide the correct sized bolts and nuts.Don't get me wrong, the product will work to upgrade your brakes on a Drift Trike/Go Kart and will no doubt give you better braking, but it's just a little frustrating that you have to find your own set of bolts and nuts to finish the job.
