I’ve been using cutoff wheels for 10 years as a small fabrication and welding business. Normally I use the house brand from whatever welding supply I am using at the time. Recently I have been buying more on Amazon when it comes to these types of welding supplies that I buy regularly. I decided to try the METABO slicers as they were a good deal and I have heard a lot about them in casual conversations with other welders.I wouldn’t have thought there would be a noticeable difference, a cutoff wheel is a cutoff wheel. These however seemed to cut better, more aggressively and they seem to last longer when you are pushing them. The quality of the actual wheel looks good. Some of the cheap stuff at your big box stores or elsewhere look sketchy and these are the kind of tool you DO NOT want to come apart on you because they hurt.Very happy with the METABO slicers and when the time comes to restock this will be my brand of choice.

If you work in metal repair and fabrication, you know how essential cut discs can be when used with a 4 1/2" grinder. You can slice out welds, cut screen and sheet metal, even machine notches and keyways in an emergency. But, they aren't very durable, so you need a bunch! These are very nice, made in the USA, metabo branded cut discs, at a little over a dollar apeice. Think 3 or 4 dollars minimum for singles! Beware, these do not have a metal reinforcing ring in the middle as many other discs do, so they are more apt to explode if they get caught during a cut. Use a grinder with a guard, and wear eye protection! Also, make sure your grinder can use non depressed center discs, because these are completely flat.

Not cheap but worth every dime last longer and cuts better then a lot of the other brands. And doesn’t shader so easy like a lot of the other brands.

Over the last 35 years I've used many brands of cut off wheels, I'm using these to cut 1/8 ''stainless steel which is a very hard material and tends to wear out cut off wheels quickly but these Metabo slicers are lasting much longer than I expected and are proving to have the best performance and durability of all other brands I've used......I highly recommend these Metabo slicers I don't believe you'll find a better cut off wheel.

Have used these for years both professionally in a welding shop and at home. Using them is like a hot knife through butter as long as you let the wheel cut on it’s own and not force it.

I've tried many cutting wheels in my 15+ year career and found Metabo's slicers the best I've used.Clean, quick cuts in mild, hardened and stainless steel, I use nothing else.
