As a collector of jewelry and buttons these are outstanding size for small objects. The addition of a script box on front has much improved their usefulness to me since it gives room for permanent notes done when I research an item. I no longer have to put a post-it inside when I need to have that info at my fingertips. I also use this size to store sorted beads for craft work. And the price and number per box is wonderful

Minigrip used to make these bags with the white block - the area to write on the bag - as a much larger area in both width and length. The writing area used to be from one edge of the bag to the other and it was a taller space as well. Having enough space to write down the contents details makes a BIG difference in bags this small. It is the reason for buying a white block bag with writing space instead of a completely clear bag.Minigrip, if you're reading this, please go back to the much larger white block writing area.Another reviewer wrote that "the" big deal is the way they open with the cuts at different levels, but I disagree because other bags have this feature and it's not a big deal, these bags are made of thick plastic and open easily.Although I like the red strip at the top which is a visual aid, I will be buying other company's bags in the future if Minigrip does not make the white block writing area space much larger, because having a large enough white block writing area is ESSENTIAL to having bags with an area to write on it in the first place.I would gladly revise my review if Minigrip goes back to making the larger white block writing space.

I have been using red line bags for over 20 years. I use them for my daily medication. I prepare my meds 90 days at a time. Red line bags are heavier than the other brands or generics. I reuse them 3-4 times. They have an overlap at the top making it easier to open. They may cost a little more but definitely worth it.

The big deal about the Minigrip bags is the way they open. The two parts of the opening are cut to different levels, making it easy to find the opening and get the bag open. If you're bagging small parts with them, this seemingly minor feature becomes a Big Deal. I only gave it 4 stars because it's *only* a plastic bag. I will buy this brand again when I need other sizes.
