I was skeptical about some of the negative reviewer's claims about this product. This puttu kudam is as good as any good quality kudam we find from steel shop in India. The kudam itself is well made. We have been using this everyday for a month ( to make puttu and also to boil eggs in the kudam..) we have not find any leaks yet. Good construction of the puttu tube on top. Good handle and lid also. Will buy again!

The small circular plate with holes inside the puttu maker rusted and broke very soon. Very surprised since it’s stainless steelCan the maker send a replacement for the small circular plate ? The puttu maker is good and holding up although I did have tighten the screws attached to the plastic handleThe handle is very flimsy

I usually don't write reviews. But I have to write one for this item! We love this one. It is very stable and balanced on the stove because it has a wider base. Also, the making of puttu is very fast using this one! It is definitely worth for the money we paid.

Likes : The puttu comes our perfectly, if used correctly.Dislikes : 1) The puttu maker is of a different brand. I am ok with this. Not sure about the quality of steel though.2) puttu gets oxidized and turns black at some parts for the 1st puttu.3) The handle screws are very loose and comes off easily4) If the puttu powder is filled till the top and pressed hard to get a solid cylindrical shape, the top cyclindrical portion goes off like a rocket and falls out. There are also chances of boiling water spilling out and can get burnt. (Like I got hurt for my 2nd puttu :( luckily my son was not with me in the kitchen).Remedy : 1) apply oil on the cylindrical part for the 1st puttu to avoid oxidation.2) Don’t over fill or press the puttu powder too hard, as the steam can’t escape out. This will make things worse.

Food cooked results in metal lining/shaving that appears on food cooled. Tried multiple times to see if it would go away but issue continues. Could be caused from the inside metal soldering that may be poor quality soldering. I don’t mind paying $30 for an item that is actually $7 ($499 rupees) from India but atleast find a better quality manufacturer.

This thing works well. However, it is made of very thin metal and is almost flimsy. The edges are a bit on the sharp side and I am afraid it might cut especially while washing. Steam was escaping from the water compartment. I placed a rubber band that acted as a gasket and seemed to fix the issue by directing the steam through the tower portion.

One of worst product, don’t buy this one as the assembling don’t match with the screws they provided.The steam goes through the bottom vessel joint. The powder remain uncooked. So don’t buy this product. For me this is a waste of money
