Our 4 yr old grand daughter loves taking photos with kids camera she has had for a year or so, and this magnifying lens camera (aka 'Kids Microscope') was right up her alley.A couple things to note... there doesn't seem to be any focus control, so you must move the lens back and forth to achieve focus, and the sweet spot seems to be when the the magnifier is flat on the surface. Takes great extreme close ups of coins or paper money, stamps, photographs, etc..., anything flat. Would have been nice to have had a focus control... one star withheld for this reason.The markings on the buttons are a bit hard to see as they are not a contrasting color, but after a while can be spotted and the controls are easy to operate. There is room for about 100 pictures after which you will need to install an SD card (not included) to take more photos or videos. Yes, this gadget takes videos also, so I guess you could video insects or stuff swimming in some pond water, but we haven't tried that yet.All in all, the 4 year old has gotten the hang of how to take photos and how to play them back. Maybe someday she will learn how to take photos that are in focus. (She's always moving the lens around while trying to push the 'capture' button and not yet quite patient to hold still long enough... soon though.)

This is a simple little microscope that's fun to use. The cat shape is adorable. It doesn't provide a high level of magnification and it's not professional quality but it does a really nice job of magnifying everyday objects to give you a better look. It was fun going around the house looking at things from a new perspective. I didn't try synching it to my phone or computer but it really wasn't necessary because we were able to accomplish everything we wanted to with the basic microscope. It works well and seems reasonably sturdy. This neat little device is a great way to stimulate the imagination of any kid, but especially those who are interested in science.

Works great! Easy to use . Is a must for a coin collector on the go .can also plug it in to a laptop or computer for a bigger view of the the picture . It's rechargeable has a nice zoom white .fits in your pocket. A must have for coin,stamp,paper currency or rock collectors. Anything that needs magnification on the go.

This is described for children 3 and older. The second sentence in the pamphlet with it says, “This is a complex product†which doesn’t sound child friendly. Also calls for a memory card that isn’t included to show images on a computer screen. Again, not child friendly.

Got this magnifying camera as a gift for my daughters as they are very curious, and we like to expose them to STEM toys whenever possible. Once you realize it has to lay flat on the object to work, it’s pretty neat! Pictures are of it sitting on a yoga mat and carpet - the screen is bright so my pictures look dark since I focused there so you could see its picture quality. There is the option to take and store pictures of your explorations but we haven't gotten that far yet, nor was it a key feature for us.

My kids have had SO much fun with this little handheld microscope! The image quality is pretty poor - don't expect professional/actual microscope results. It's more of a very zoomed in camera look. My daughter was SO excited to try to look at snowflakes with it, and she couldn't see any of the detail. But they've still had fun carrying it around seeing how things look zoomed in.I would say this toy is more geared towards littles - between ages 4 and 7. They will think it's really cool to see things zoomed in and get to explore all around the house and outdoors. Any older, and they will be a little disappointed in the image quality.

This digital kids' microscope is exactly as pictured and makes a fantastic gift. I got it as a stocking stuffer for Christmas, and it’s perfect for sparking curiosity and exploration. Compact, easy to use, and a great introduction to science for kids!
