The filter fits in the microwave exactly like the old ones, but the mesh screen is far denser than the one that came with the microwave. As a result, it does filter better (I think?) but there's so little airflow that the fan effectively does not work any more. The steam and smoke come out from underneath the microwave into the room. I ended up poking a bunch of holes in it which fixed the airflow problem, but now it's not trapping grease.

I have purchased these filters several times. Other filters I've purchased in the past were not as easy to install or fit as perfectly as these do.
