Great for tracking your progress and good descriptions and information. Quite waterproof but suggest a plastic ziplock bag or something as the ink will fail eventually after multiple trips. A couple rapids definitely changing over time.

Lots of good information. A must for anyone planning a rafting trip on the Salmon River or the Middle Fork of the Salmon

The price varies by supplier. The quality materials used to construct this book are exemplary. The description of the rapids for the main are... lacking. It’s obvious when one author has detailed a rapid versus the other. If Barb has written about a fluffy bunny or just given a flowery account that doesn’t include features, you are better off reading and running.

My brother ran his GPS for the Middle Fork portion. We found several small discrepancies with distances between camps and a few discrepancies with names, but otherwise the guide book stood up well. It got wet, but did not come apart. Will need an additional guide for the Main Salmon below Carey Creek if you have plans to float closer to Riggins. Overall a good effort that will likely continue to evolve.

I am happy with this guidebook and find it very useful, as I have with my other Whittis guides. Just a heads up - my pages 26 through 29 (2nd edition)were out of order. A rare fluke? With the spiral binder you can easily correct this if you run into it. But worth a check...

Water resistant. I wish the pages were a little bigger. Very helpful for navigating the middle fork of the salmon. Wouldn't leave home without it.
