I was directed to this brand of pet nail trimmer several years ago by a professional dog groomer who spoke very highly of their performance and quality at an affordable price. Years later, these are now the ONLY nail clippers I use for both my dogs and cats. I have returned to purchase at least 3 or 4 pairs over time. I know they technically are not the best type or size for cat claws, but I have found that these are the only clippers I can trust to consistently give a clean, quick, non-crushing cut to my cats' claws. I've tried gazillions of guillotine style cutters as well as those rotary style that slowly file the claws off (whose dog/cat lets them hold their paw that long?! Mine is a struggle the entire time) but these are hands-down the best ones. They stay sharp for a long time, cut smoothly even through very thick, tough nails or brittle nails. My Great Dane is the toughest, most rough-and-tumble Great Dane I've ever seen - not your classic lazy big girl - and she's constantly breaking nails on tree roots and other random outdoor hazards. I've found these clippers (especially a fresh, new pair) will easily and gently cut away the broken nail parts so we can gradually return to a healthy nail with no stray splits or tears. As an added bonus, I also find that after awhile when these get dull (or if you, uh, leave them out in the rain like has happened several times to us), they actually make awesome stem clippers for outdoor plants. I've trimmed more than a few crepe myrtle stems and cut many a batch of fresh lilies for the house using a too-dull-to-cut-dog-nails pair of these clippers, so they continue to have a life after their first intended use, which I can appreciate.Very much recommend these to anyone seeking good quality dog nail clippers that can give a perfect trim while still being super affordable.

They work on my dog, whose nails are unbelievably hard! So, I definitely recommend them for medium to large dogs. Great product!

A groomer friend of mine has always used these. We worked together and she urged me to just try them. I had been a vet tech for 12 yrs prior to my learning to groom. So, I tried them on a shitzu, we're great, started thinking, let's try a harder type nail, I tried em out on a basset hound absolutely fell in love, but before I'm gonna shell out big bucks, I'm gonna give em the test. At the time we groomed a 240lb. Great Pyrenese. I was amazed. They are so easy to use, to hold, and you don't have to squeeze the handles hard at all. Plus for me I'm a weakling. About all those bucks, I groom about 25-30 babies a week, cats too. That's roughly 240-300 nails trimmed a week. I have bought 2 pair in 13 yrs. I have never paid more than $7 and see em around mostly for bout $5-6. They are sharp, safe, very easy to use, and I would Def recommend for 1st time nail trimming dog owners. I hope they never change them, they work way to well. They may look chintzy, hands down best out there, they last forever. Thanks Miller Forge

These dog nail clippers are sharp and decent quality. They get the job done easily, which my dogs and I appreciate. They’re not professional grade, but I think they’re a good quality for what I paid. I would recommend these for home use, but not for professional use.

My dog hates getting his nails clipped by me. Almost every nail clipper that I've gotten have pinched his nail slightly crushing before cutting through cleanly. Even ones marketed as high grade professional nail clippers have done this. I think the crushing is due to the fact that he has very soft nails With these cllippers, I think I can actually get my dog to be comfortable or at least less fussy about getting his nails clipped!I found tons of recommendations for the Millers forge brand of clippers, and even the vet and groomer recommended them. First, let me say that these required almost no effort to clip my dogs nails. I was able to get my dogs nails clipped in 15 minutes, which is the fastest I've ever been able to do this. He didn't once cry out in pain as if I were killing him, nor did he retract his paw as hard as he could from my grasp. I didn't have to do a sharp and quick cut to get these to close, as I have done with many other brands. Instead these just glided right through the nail, and were incredibly precise so that I was able to clip in small sections. It was almost like shaving off his nail just a little bit. Because the clippers clipped of his nail so cleanly I was able to see that the discarded nail anatomy - hard shell and a fleshy inside. The fleshy inside of his nail just crumbles when it falls out of the hard shell, and so I think this is why previous nail clippers were crushing his nail.Speaking from a physics perspective, I can see these clippers lasting quite a long time and remaining sharp. The design on the blade of the clipper is angled sharply into a thin blade (and it is a very sharp blade). The blades make no noise as they are closed and opened, though I can feel the blades brush against one another. The spring that opens the clippers also makes no noise, and I believe this is because they use a volute spring which I'm also not afraid of getting pinched by.The only issue with the clippers is that the red comfort grip covers slide off while I clip. This isn't a big deal though as they don't slide off much and it didn't make a difference in how the clippers performed. For people who are wondering if these are real Millers Forge Inc clippers, they are. Only the larger Miller's Forge nail clippers are made in Italy (specifically the 727C and 767C styled for larger dogs). I would only recommend these for medium to small dogs. All other Miller's forge nail clippers are made in other places -such as Japan and Taiwan. These 743C clipers are made in Taiwan, and do come with the Miller's Forge lifetime guarantee against manufacturing or worksmanship defects unless abused or left to rust (as stated on the back of the packaging).

I have one large dog who hates her nails being cut, and a slightly smaller dog with extremely hard nails. These clippers worked amazingly on both dogs. They cut silently with complete ease, and no cracking or splintering of the nails. You can take off paper thin slivers, or large pieces.Small, light, and easy to handle, but amazingly sharp and effective.

De nagelknipper doet wat het moet doen. Wel een beetje te klein voor de iets dikkere nagels.

It’s not very often I write reviews but if anyone like me was worrying over their dogs nails then these clippers are life changing,I have whippets and a saluki x greyhound,as other sighthound owners will know their nails grow at a rapid rate compared to other breeds and no amount of roadwork keeps them down, one of my whippets is extremely anxious of life in general and trying to do his nails has had me in tears, the noise of other clippers terrified them,I’d manage to cut one nail then I couldn’t get near to do anymore,I even purchased a dremel and it was £40 down the drain as with it being so noisy it was worse then the clippers,I resigned myself to having to pay £15 at the groomers every 4-5 weeks, during lockdown I was literally loosing sleep as I was worried they would cause themselves an injury while running around with long nails, the millers forge are the best clippers I have ever used, unlike other makes they are completely silent when you cut,it’s easy to see precisely where the blade will cut unlike other brands that you have to guess at the cut line,I’ve managed for the first time in years to trim all my 3 boys without any fuss, the guard helps with my saluki as his nails are all black and very thick, the clippers are tiny and font look robust at all but they are so easy to hold and cut like a hot knife through butter, they come with a lifetime guarantee do that says a lot, couldn’t be more pleased for me and my boys
