I needed this bit to drill holes for some yard fencing. Although the bit is great, the drill I originally bought this for was taxed trying to drill such holes. After ordering a high torque drill. This bit and the dewalt drill I am using it with is a ferocious beast that does a great job. All holes are solid, clean bore and this bit holds its edge well. I can only suggest you employ a capable drill when using this bit.

Works well. Way better than a hole saw for putting hole in 2 by stock.If you are using this for drilling holes for PVC make sure to buy a bit at least 5/8" bigger that the pipe size to account for the pipe wall thickness. 3/4" is probably a safer bet. That way you will have some wiggle room.

Far better than the old auger bits I had been using and spade bits don't even belong in the same category as this hole maker! Expensive, but worth every penny if you are running wire/pipe through wood studs.

Product description did not disclose that a larger-type drive for my drill would be required to use this.While it did way 'hex' - it didn't say the dimensions of that hex and I had to buy another adapter to make it work with my drill - or buy a new drill.

I use these selfeed bits in a B.M. Root Boring Machine and they work fantastic. I have bored through about 1500 2x6's and the bit has not showed any signs of dulling. The only thing you have to be careful about are the 1" bits clog pretty easily. The 1 1/2" bits are pretty much self cleaning.

Better have a GOOD drill----as this bit WILL bite into the wood and out the other side in a flash.....Hang on.....WOW what a bit..
