Ten stars!!!! Cleaned our 30 gal tank up within a week!!! We have a pleco, and he wasn’t eating all of the algae tablets (my son probably over fed as well) and it saturated the water. I didn’t want to use a water clarifier so our tank was overrun. I was looking for an easy solution and this little bulb just went in the filter system and did all the hard work! Couldn’t believe it!! Just make sure you follow the directions, but would 1000% buy again!

My 70 gallon tank has been suffering from green water, green gravel and algae choked filter bags. Weekly water changes and liquid algae remover never put a dent in it. This tank is not in any sunlight. I ran this UV light 24 hours/day for 4 days inside my back-mount water filter. The tank water is now the clearest I have ever seen it in 15 years. My plastic plants are losing the dark green slime, the glass is not getting film AND the gravel is clearing up. My wattage meter reads exactly 1/2 watt, not 3W. Today I will start cutting back on the daily run time of this light. The suction cup mount was missing, but I do not need it.

This light saved me I tried everything and nothing worked till I got this light it took 2 to 3 days but it worked great. My water looked like pea soup and now it's clear as a bell, I would highly recommend this it really works.

Worked fine, but sent it back for the non-timer version, I have a timer on my outlet and when the outlet timer would turn on, this light would stay off innless you manually turned it on... Sent this version back for the no timer version, and it works how it should with no issues with the timer on my outlet.

I have a 20 gallon aquarium with 3 small goldfish and have been struggling with algae blooms and cloudy/murky water despite frequent water and filter changes. Chemically algae removal products kill or sickens the fish. I tried this product as a last-ditch experiment and within a few days, the water cleared. The fish are happy in their clean water and the tank remains free of algae blooms after a month. Highly recommend this product!

I was skeptical at first due to some of the reviews but figured I would try anyway. The price was right so why not? I have a 10 gallon tank that was starting to cloud up due to algae bloom. I had tried changing out part of the water which didn’t make a difference. I plugged this light in and inserted it into the filter right behind the filter cartridge. It has a timer on it with different time increments. I let it run for 48hrs and have seen a noticeable difference. I would definitely recommend it due to how easy it is to use and the price alone. Be advised you will not get instant results as it’s only working on small parts of water at a time but, if you give it time it will work.

This honestly transformed the hobby for me, BUT: some of you cannot be trusted with this. Before you plug this in, you MUST encase it in something UVC-proof, or you will destroy eyeballs (and also plastics). What I do is lower the bulb into a small ceramic vase, then lower an airstone into the vase on top of the bulb, then fill the rest of the vase with gravel (so no fish can ever see the bulb). Then put the vase in the aquarium. Only then, do I plug in the UVC bulb. The airstone circulates water around the UVC bulb inside the vase. Just leave it on 24/7, because the bulb actually lasts longer if you don't turn it on/off repeatedly.Within a couple days, my aquariums always look crystal-clear. (EDIT: note it can take up to 2 weeks depending on other filtration, and also what the specific organism is clouding the water.) For the very low price, this product is exceptional. It feels like I've discovered a great secret. But only if you're smart enough to put the bulb in something UVC-proof, you should NEVER see the light. Again I recommend ceramic, and then bury it in gravel just to be sure. Do that, and then it's perfectly safe and does fantastic things for your water quality.

My fish tank had a green algae problem. I blacked out my tank with a black trash bag for over a week. I bought special filter media and nothing helped. I bought this uv light and put it inside my external filter on the back of my tank. I left the light on for 24 hours a day for 3 days. The 4th day I woke up and my tank was 100% clear. Now I leave the bulb in my external filter and the light on for 6 hours a day. In a few days I will lower it to 3 hours per day and after this I will only use the light if I see the water turning green. Great product. Thank you very much.

This thing does not work, did a few tests with a watch lume that get charged with a UV light and this did nothing to it. The second test was adding this to one of my aquariums and run it for 6 days at 12 hr timer and the amount of algae forming on the glass was the same as before and not better than my other aquarium that got cleaned at the same time and did not use the lamp. Too many bold claims on the product. Also note it is just one unit you are receiving not 3 as the product page says.
