I ordered this mini microscope for my son to use while exploring outside on our walks. This microscope is a nice compact size for on the go. It is simple to operate. There is an on/off switch on the bottom for the light. An adjustable dial for the focus and another for the magnification. 2 AAA batteries are required (not included) and a small screwdriver (not included) is needed to get into the battery compartment. You do need to be right up on the object to see anything; which makes it good for trees, leaves, rocks, etc. that don't move but won't be great for insects or things that don't stay still. Overall, this is a nice compact mini microscope that will hopefully spark an interest in nature for my preschooler.
