Another update: October 2024Finally knocked the poor thing hard enough that the post that plugs into the headphone jack now jiggles a little. Mind you, the speaker still works perfectly; but I'm afraid it might not last a whole lot longer. I guess we'll see.I must have gotten really lucky with the one I got, because it's been just great. A very worthwhile buy, and if it eventually becomes too beat up to work anymore, I'll be happy to get another one.Update: March 2024Gonna go ahead & put it up to 5 stars, given the price, and the fact that it has been better than I expected. So, within those parameters, 5 stars. I've even knocked it out of my phone a couple of times, and it fell about 4 feet onto a linoleum-type floor, and it's still fine.Original review: (August 2023)Right, so this speaker is about the size of a golf ball; I came into this NOT expecting amazing, rich, full, room-filling stereo sound. I mean, coooome on!I AM pleasantly surprised by the sound for such a small, easy-to-carry item. Not tinny, to my ear, especially compared to the built-in speaker on my Moto G7 Power, which I feel is pretty much just your average phone speaker, so basically somewhat weak and tinny. This little golf ball sounds MUCH better than that. Now, am I going to experience the intense emotional response to certain songs that I would experience when listening to those songs on amazing floor speakers? Um, no, not even close. HOWEVER, this is a HUGELY better listen than my phone speaker. I have occasionally become irritated by music, even music that I really like, when I've had to listen to it on my phone's speakers. This little golf ball is so much better! And loud! Oy, let me tell you! Volume is controlled only by the volume control of whatever device you have it plugged into; there is no onboard volume control, but even with the volume on my phone at just under ½, this speaker is clear and plenty loud. This requires that your device has a 3.5 mm headphone jack to plug the speaker into; therefore, because it's a single, cylindrical peg, the speaker can easily spin around when it's plugged into your device. Whatcha gonna do, right? (Well if you're me, you might consider glueing something to the speaker to make it sit still, but we'll see). Also, make sure you really push it in all the way. (Also, I guess I could plug it into a bluetooth receiver, such as the one I just got, and not have to plug it directly into the phone.)I really need to stop. I'm currently experiencing serious small-speaker and bluetooth-connection obsessions. I don't need to be spending my meager funds this way. 😒I was able to use it while it was plugged in, charging. Beware that the charge cord (USB-A to micro) is incredibly short, though - maybe 9 inches? I don't have a tape measure handy... Clearly expected to be charged on a USB port on your computer, whilst lounging on the desk right up next to the computer... ðŸ˜Have no idea how long the 300 mAh battery will last on a full charge. I'll try to test it out soon-ish, and will always edit my reviews when new info - good, bad, or just informational - comes to light.I AM feeling mildly dubious concerning the overall durability of the speaker, but only time will tell. Wish it came with a hard carrying case; I would feel a little more confident. For now, however, I am happy with this purchase - very pleased with the sound and volume of this little thing!

It is very portable. It works. The sound is just loud enough. The only think wrong is there is no volume control.

I used this on my iPad mini to listen to an episode of Hunting History. The sound was clear and loud enough to hear it comfortably.

it worked for my cell phone but I decided to go a different route for what I needed. I hated the fact that it had to be charged in order to work, not like having a set of headphones.

Pretty much just static. I tried it with multiple devices, both with TRS and TRRS connectors. Absolute junk, don't waste your money.

I have a skittish, somewhat feral cat that still has anxiety issues. I tried something a couple of years ago & found that she liked watching tv, especially cat tv. I used headphones for speakers but didn't like it so I bought this lil speaker, to plug directly into cell so she can watch cat tv and hear the lil animal & nature sounds nicely. I do have a couple of older devices that I can use it on for myself, like portable DVD player or transistor radio. It has rechargeable battery so it doesn't draw power from cell. It does not take long to charge & will play for hours. I love it, my cat loves it & we both recommend it.

Works well enough to specifications. Internal battery does not have enough capacity giving no more than a few hours use.

Works well with my laptop. Wouldn't recommend for a portable device as it spins very easily. Good sound for watching videos (not great for music perhaps) It doesn't seem to hold a charge for long, I usually have to change daily or every other day depending on use. It doesn't work while charging. I got it because I didn't want a blue tooth speaker as my ancient laptop has issuing with connections (or perhaps it's my ancient self...) Not sorry I bought it, wouldn’t buy again.
