About magnetic arc extinguishing
- AC circuit breakers cannot be used for DC, whereas DC circuit breakers can be used for AC.
- AC has a zero point, while DC does not, so DC arcs are more difficult to extinguish than AC arcs
- DC miniature circuit breakers are equipped with a magnetic field system under the breaking contact that pulls the arc into the interrupter chamber to assist in extinguishing the arc.

This 32 amp duel pole DC breaker was perfect for my DIY solar project. I used the breaker for my PV line . High quality and was very easy to install the din rail that was included. And attach the breaker. I tested it with a 40 amp charger and was able to get it to trip . This is great protection for my 10 gauge wires . I'm running at 25 to 30 amps worth of solar and feel very protected with this breaker .

I have two PV systems. One has a panel array of almost 500 watts, and the smaller one is just 200 watts. I use this KERWINN Miniature Circuit Breaker 1000V DC Circuit Breaker 2 Pole 63Amp to turn off the 500-watt solar panel array. It is convenient to have it directly in my cabinet station because many times, adjustments in the controller, inverter, etc., require disconnecting the solar inlet power. This breaker does an excellent job on that and also protects my devices in case of overvoltage. I highly recommend this product because it was easy to install, and the manufacturer included a dim rail that was long enough to put another breaker. It is also affordable.

This is the right size for a common configuration of solar panels. I'm using it as a switch and for short protection between the panels and controller. This will work well for my needs.

Many of the breakers in this type of line are polarity sensitive. Get it wrong and it may not be able to work as described. This breaker is designed so that no matter which way you have the current flowing, it still works as advertised.Since most arrays are not grounded, this breaker is used to interrupt both negative and positive legs of the circuit. Thus, the double pole design.Mounts into a standard DIN box or can be used in project boxes with the use of a DIN rail.Great product and one that I would recommend.
