  • MIRROR CUTTER - Watch Mirror Cutting Videos Read Tips And Instructions and Download User Guide. Must Soak Mirror Cutting Tool Wheel in Glass Cutting Oil, Run Wheel Up And Down A Board To Check Wheel is Spinning Freely So It Can Score Mirror Evenly If Mirror Cutting Blade Stops It Will Not Score. Mirror Cutter Wheel Must Be Oiled Every Cut, A Dry Wheel Will Stick and Drag Across And That Will Not Make a Good Score. Practice On Scrap Mirror Before Making Final Cut To Ensure You Have The Technique.
  • HOLD MIRROR CUTTING TOOL – Handles Of Mirror Cutter Tool Are Only For Squeezing Mirror To Break Do Not Hold Glass Cutter by Handles When Scoring. Hold Close To The Wheel for Control And Pressure on Mirror Scorer, The Technique is to Create A Small V In Surface Of The Mirror. Scoring Too Deep Or Without Oil Will Leave A Wide Groove And White Dusty Line that Will Not Break On The Line Instead Of A Shallow V, Perfect Mirror Score Must Be Just Firm Enough To Leave the V Score in The Glass Mirror.
  • CUT STRAIGHT LINE IN MIRROR – Place Mirror Sheet On Board At Waist Height, Scoring Mirror on Soft Carpet Can Cause Hairline Cracks when You Go to Break Mirror. Score Front of Mirror And Only Once or It May Shatter. Draw Line On Mirror With Marker, Follow Line By Pulling Cutter Towards You Never Away, Watch Back Of The Mirror Cutting Wheel to Follow Line or Use Flat Side Of Glass Mirror Cutting Blade To Run Along A Very Smooth Straight Edge Guide At Least 2mm Thick, Tape Guide To Prevent Moving.
  • CUT CURVES IN MIRROR – And Wavy Lines Over Quarter Circle If Mirror Tool Is Held Correctly And Instructions Followed. Draw Shape On Mirror And Follow Line With Mirror Cutting Tool. The Mirror Cutters Tool Must Be Held Upright And Perpendicular, Lean It Over And It May Slide Sideways And Glass Mirror Cutter May Not Cut V In The Mirror Glass Surface. Smooth Curves Are Ok With The Mirror Cutting Tool, Sharp Angles Are Not. Large Curves May Need Squeezing The Score On Mirror Gently From Both Sides.
  • BREAKING MIRROR - Align Aluminum Breaker Of Glass Cutter Dead Center Over Score Line, Lift Mirror And Squeeze Handles Ever So Gently. Over Squeezing Can Chip Edges Of Mirror. Large Mirror Sheet Use Piece Of Wood Under The Score Line And Bend Mirror Over It Or Over Edge Of Bench, Watch Videos For More Info. Trimming Edge Of Mirror Is Possible Within Laws Of Physics For Any Glass Cutter. Do Not Try To Cut Less Than 4 Times Thickness Of Glass From Edge, Less May Be Possible Off Edge With Practice.

Mirror Cutting Tool Kit – Not Just Any Mirror Cutter The Amazing Glass Cutter Made In Uk A Manual Glass Mirror Cutter That Lets You Cut Straight Radius And Wavy Lines In Mirror Glass Stained Glass And Glass Tiles. The Scoring Wheel Is Not Sharp, It Is Likely The Dullest Tool You Will Own But The Hardest, This Hardness Along With The Special Angle Ground Into The Mirror Scoring Wheel Allows The Amazing Glass Cutter To Cut Thick Mirror And Cut Thin Mirror And Glass Materials And Hard Tile Without Hurting The Wheel. The Secret Is To Follow The Instructions Exactly. Practice On A Spare Piece In Order To Work Out Enough Pressure To Apply, Usually Not Enough Pressure Is Applied To Start With But Sometimes Less Pressure Is Better So Practice Makes Perfect. Cutting On The Floor Instead Of On A Solid Board At Waist Height Will Fail And Give Uneven Pressure Along The Score Line And May Even Crack The Mirror Before You Start. Not Oiling The Scoring Wheel And Making Sure It Is Turning Very Freely May Cause The Wheel To Bind, Drag And Even Lock Up And Just Scratch The Glass Instead Of Evenly Scoring It And This Will Prevent The Mirror Cutter From Working Correctly. Holding The Mirror Cutting Tool By The Plastic Grips When Scoring With Your Strongest Hand Means That You Are Only Applying Minimal Amount Of Pressure If Any On The Cutting Wheel At The Point Where The Scoring Is Happening. Always Pull Towards You Not Push Away. For Stained Glass, Plate Glass, Picture Framing Glass Or Fused Glass The Cutting Wheel Should Be Oiled Every Single Score, Oil Will Run Down Onto The Glass And Will Not Only Cool Down The Glass And Give A Cleaner Cut It Will Also Extend The Life Of The Cutting Wheel. If You Can Wipe The Oil Off The Glass And There Is No Score Line Visible, Then You Need To Increase The Pressure – Make Sure You Are Holding Close To The Wheel And Use The 2 Handed Method If Needed Especially If You Do Not Have A Lot Of Strength In Your Hands Or Are Cutting A Very Hard Material.

So I have been incorporating glass into my woodworking projects for a couple of years now. I always struggle with cutting the glass. When I know I have a project with glass, I worry about it. I have used different types of cutters, and it is always hit and miss. I have wasted a lot of glass. It is probably the result of poor technique on my part. I purchased this product, watched the video on how to use it, and made a flawless cut in seconds. Big game changer for me.

You have to get use to it but it does a good job on thin to medium. If you use it on thicker glass doesnt seem to always run along the score. However does a pretty decent job.

The description and video make it seem like this cutter is a breeze and is capable of very complex cuts given the large handle. In reality the instructions say not to use the handle for mechanical advantage and to grip as close to the wheel as possible in order to apply the correct pressure. But of course then the handle is in the way which defeats the purpose. None of my cuts followed the score lines at all. It did not matter how short or thin the glass was. The oil only made things worse. The wheel would skip instead of make a solid score line.

I bought this as an experiment because I needed a way to cut a large, 1/4" thick mirror into three smaller mirrors. The glass shop was really expensive, so I thought this was worth a try. I was disappointed. It works about as well as the less expensive glass cutters, but definitely could not cut a straight edge on the mirror.Perhaps I am not experienced enough, or the mirror was too big. Whatever, the reason, I was disappointed.

Bulky, not easy to use, not worth the money compared to other glass cutters . Wouldn’t recommend.

Cuts well enough but no reservoir so you need to dip by hand. The handles aren’t comfortable to apply the right pressure and the flaps of the pliers part make it difficult to see your cutting line. Not my favourite tool fo cutting glass for mosaics.

Returned a cheaper one after it ruined a pane. This one works every time. It's more expensive but it's brilliant. Don't waste time with inferior, cheaper products.
