Excellent Quality, Seal & Fit! Super Strong Magnet!I have been using Magnetic Drain Plugs (decades/since HS) for about as long as i have been learning to "hot-rod" & "Mod" my vehicles for best power & Reliability to match an extended maximized service life (well beyond any normal expectations). This is one such product. Oil filtration alone does not get the job done.See comparison pic of stock 2014 Subaru Outback/Legacy drain plug next to Mishimoto. One review states that it is "Too Long"...?? Definitely longer, but far from causing any interference, as it's in the bottom of the drain pan!! NO WORRIES!!NOTE: A "24mm" socket/wrench is needed to install, versus the 17mm for stock. Yes, you may get away with an adjustable "crescent wrench" for initial install, but you will tear it up when time to remove it.DO NOT "Over Torque"... Never Over Torque, as it is unnecessary!ALSO, DO NOT USE ANY "torque spec" to tighten with a torque wrench, as the OEM specs are for a "smaller" head size!!"Common Sense" must prevail, as this Drain Plug has a much larger head... thus a much larger torque advantage, as well! This means that it takes more torque to tighten a smaller head than it does a correspondingly larger one (all things being equal)! This plug should ONLY be tightened till "snug," then by feel for the gasket to further compress. "Just Tight" is tight enough in this case, but applies to many other applications, as well. The Plug has a specially designed Synth.Rubber Seal & oversize gasket/washer. The seal is actually unnecessarily redundant, as the washer is perfectly efficient. FYI: the "Dealer" typically specifies that the gasket be replaced every oil change for extra $... but wait... i have NEVER in my entire LIFE had to replace one for any reason!! Currently pushing 400k miles on another Subaru. See the stock drain plug in Pic... it has over 100k miles with 20+ oil changes.Order Well In Advance of your next oil change, as shipping takes 7-10 days!July 2024 update… buying another for new 2024 Subaru Ascent. The old Mishimoto has nearly 300K miles on the 2017 Outback (60+ oil changes using original gasket without leaks, or seaps)!

Claimed to fit 2010 outback. It does not. Magnet is to long and hits inside the oil pan.... quality on the product is nice but I cannot use it..

Amazing product the only thing that might be a bad thing for some people is that it changes the size of the bolt too 7/8s but it's light weight and magnet works great as doesn't leak great

Did not fit my 2012 Subaru legacy 2.5. The magnet is to long and hits inside the oil pan before it can be threaded on. The drain plug looks like a great quality it just didn't work on my car.

This is a good fit for Subaru Forester 2011. I was worried about oil leaks at first and put it too tight but reading other reviews it shouldn't be tightened much.

Aluminum cap and easily over tightend. I unfortunately over tightend it and cross threaded it. Had to drill it out. Not fun

Perfect no leak seal. No need for a copper seal ring. Easy to access the big hex head with a wrench.

Thought I’d treat the car to a new sump bolt. Fancy I know! With very little force it stripped the threads and now won’t do up, or come undone. I’ve had a nightmare 2 days which has resulted in a new sump. To get to that sump is a manifold off job too.Don’t do it to yourself. It’s cheap toot. Wish I’d used the old steel bolt with a new washer. Hindsight eh?!

This Aluminum drain plug has softer threads that risk stripping with even the slightest over tighten. The dorman gasket also leaks after one use. The magnet does work as advertised so two stars. Consider a different brand.
