My 6" calipers wouldn't stay on after I accidentally dropped them, wasn't sure why until I tried to swap the battery cover from my spare 8" only to find that it wouldn't clip fully. Apparently the cover has little tangs towards the bottom of the cover that can snap off if dropped. These covers fit exactly as the original and my calipers are back to working order.
