This is a great repair kit. It includes a lot more than you would think would ever be included. Of course it contains all of the o-rings and soft parts a person would normally expect but it also includes a new piston and rod, a new vacuum/pressure knob, new screws, a new piston return spring, a new “dual converter valve†and even a Schrader valve removal tool.I have the Mityvac MV8500 Silverline Elite and I accidentally ingested some liquid. I then tried to clear the liquid by taking apart the tool. I wasn’t certain what failed but my Mityvac no longer worked in the vacuum position. After going through the rebuild kit I now understand what happened. There is an umbrella valve with a pull tab which gets pulled forward through the “front seal retainer†and the tab on mine was snapped off. There are 2 screws which hold the valve housing assembly (nose piece) to the body of the Mityvac. In my attempt to disassemble and clear the liquid I removed one screw and simple loosened the other so I could rotate the valve housing out of the way. I didn’t realize it but I must have sheared off the tab of the umbrella seal. With that replaced the vacuum function works perfectly.Very important if you want to disassemble and inspect your tool prior to buying this kit. The “dual converter valve†is plastic. It works fine but there are 3 small o-rings assembled into the converter valve. Those tend to make the assembly pretty tight. DO NOT grab the plastic valve with a needle nose or other pliers. Instead press something against the small end with even/firm finger pressure and it will come out. Pressing with only fingers gives the feeling that it will never come out but placing a hard flat surface against the small end seems to do the trick. I damaged my original dual-converter-valve before I bought the kit so I was very happy to see a new one in the kit.One thing the kit instructs you to do is lubricate some of the parts with Silicone oil. The kit does NOT include the oil so be aware if you want to follow the instructions properly and have the highest chance for success you should find some Silicone oil.

I contaminated my Mityvac with some coolant and it didn't work well. This kit had every part needed (valves and seals) to make it work like new again. Took less than 30 minutes start to finish.

I couldn't find a repair kit for my Mityvac Silverline 4000. This kit looked like it might have some of the soft goods. I had posted a question, but no one answered. So here is an answer. From the parts diagram, item #s 6, 13, 14 and 15 are the only parts that will fit the 4000. Turns out these were good enough as my 4000 is back to 100% functionality.

Make your fancy pressure/vacuum pump work like new. This kit includes everything that you need, plus clearly written directions. It took me less than half an hour to rebuild my fancy pump and now it works like new. Don't buy a new pump, buy this!

I was disappointed at first when my Mityvac 8500 went on the brings. I was very delighted when I found that Mityvac Pump Rebuild KIT is in existence, the same day I received my kit I put it together and tested my Mityvac, Great kit it is working again.
