These are my daughter's favorite strings. She likes their sound, and they are strong. They last and sound pretty good.

Getting a "viola" sound out of a 14-inch VIOLA is a bit of a trick, and these strings definitely fill the need for that purpose. Beginners on the smaller viola will appreciate the "help" that these strings give compared to standard steel strings. It takes a little time (a couple of weeks of daily playing) to stabilize their tuning and to bring out the best from these strings, which have an elastic "nylon" center strand. They are well made, come in clearly labeled packaging, and have more "body" than all-steel strings.

Initial Review: I've only just put these on my viola and I must say, I can hear how well these strings shine on my 16in viola. I'll admit I took a gamble with buying strings at this price, but I figured if I didn't like them, I could return them or use them as a backup set. So far, and I will be posting an update, I think these are phenomenal strings, especially as someone who is just getting back into playing after several years and trying to maintain an old viola on a budget. Highly recommend.

I put them on my old 1980's Cremona Viola and it made a big difference. Nice tone and great value!

A student got these and asked me to put them on. The A string broke before it was even tuned to the right pitch. Tried to "Jerry rig" a quick fix (one that has worked for me multiple times on very old name brand strings) but it broke again. Do not recommend.

These strings are adequate for spares. The lower strings sound good - the A string was problematic for me.
