This very sturdy and aesthetically pleasing brushed nickel TP holder is great for easy roll changes without the danger of having to chase spring loaded rollers or unraveling paper rolls!! This is Moen..always a quality product. I had a very nice toilet paper holder but people kept grabbing it to use to get up from the toilet....it got pulled out of the wall!!! This one is great....very sturdy and although not a simple install...need some tools...once installed....very impressive and sturdy.....Attractive as well!

I bought this thing back in 2011 while I was remodeling one of my in-law's bathrooms. I wanted to make the bathroom more user friendly for them as they were aging. Well, here it is 13 years later and my wife and I now own the house. This handrail/TP dispenser is still holding strong. While I had the bathroom torn apart, I glued and screwed 3/4 inch plywood into all locations where I was installing handrails. The point I'm trying to make is that if you install this on a solid base, it will stay there and will function perfectly for years to come.

This item was mentioned in the NYT Wirecutter, and looked to be ideal for older folks lifting up from the toilet. So, bought it, easy installation instructions, using novel hi-strength wall anchors, Our original toilet -paper holder had one end fastened to a drywall stud, which we used to anchor one end of the hand-rail, and other end used the supplied wall anchor. It all went together smoothly, and - wow - what a difference!No more struggling to "lift off", as the super-strong hand-hold enabled easy use of one's arm to assist in rising.Superior quality, ease of installation, and looks classy...Five stars across the board!

Attractive, and it doubles as a toilet paper holder, but a bit tight or close to the wall when first using a jumbo size TP. I wish grab bars could be designed to be more beautiful or less industrial, with the plate where it's attached to the wall made artistically- like with a leaf or scroll shape- not look so industrial. This grab bar is a flowing design and very sturdy. The way to attach it requires 3" INSIDE THE WALL (that mean in a space at least 3 or 3 1/4 " between the inner and outer double wall and I suppose that would also need to be past the 2x4 you expect to go into? Our pony-wall (1/2as high- not to ceiling ) next to the toilet was tiled and just under 4 ". No way counting the inner structure would there be as wide a gap as this requires for a pivoting inner brace for the bar have enough room to swing up into position to lock/brace the bar. Instead we elected to not use the guide that required cutting a large hole in the tile to get the brace in. Maybe I'll add photos . Anyway your grab bar will work without using the guide and a smaller hole for the supplied, single and most important screw will tighten and lock the bar in place. If the screw is too long, (shows through a wall- ours went into a closet) don't cut it until after the install in case you damage the threads. Finally we had it in- dont forget to have help with a lever, ours isn't quite level, alas. But the most unfortunate part is JUMBO ROLLS ARE TOO BIG to roll at first. So we took everything off and added a backing. Because we had cut the screws so they wouldn't show in the closet, adding a backing meant my screws were too short. When I took everything to the hardware store I learned that the screws Moen provided are quality stainless steel. Cheaper screws are probably fine, screws are inside and covered so if there is eventual rusting will never show.

Installed this several months ago in my parents bathroom. Solid and looks good...I was afraid it was going too like a hospital but I'm now installing one in my own bathroom I don't need a grab bar but you never know if you get sick and need one later.

The look and quality matter with things like this. You will get that with Moen. I wouldnt trust my family member grabbing on some generic grab bar with junk metal from china... this is great quality, easy to install and sturdy with multiple mounting options. Not bulky like most grab/balance bars...GREAT ITEM !!
