Installation is a bit involved as there are actually 6 holes to fill with hardware in the bidet. My installation was delayed when a part was missing from the kit. A call to Moen triggered a quick response to get a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement part went astray because of a mis-transcribed address and Moen unhesitatingly sent another. (After tracking down the wayward component I now have an extra diverter valve.)For this project I purchased the Toto bidet and both of the recommended Moen kits (rough and trim). I was replacing a vintage bidet with leaky plumbing. The old bidet is now a planter in our garden.

The parts did not fit together. Also, just fyi, I was purchasing a bidet and the faucet to go with it. Amazon recommends buying this rough-in as well but I did not need it. Be careful!!

Design is clunky. Time will tell us if the design avoids the problem that we had with our previous hardware. If so, that will be fantastic. (I think the mixer valve wore out on our previous hardware resulting in a lot of hammer.) Moen gives you a choice of 5 or 6 designs for the valve handles which has to be purchased separately. The cost of the two sets of hardware plus the plumber's time was pretty much what we paid for the original bidet, porcelain bowl, and hardware. The fountain has a different spray pattern and force than our previous set. Both the mixer valve and fountain sit higher on the fixture than our previous set did. It is very hard to get product information from Moen about their equipment, the Moen website has a sentence about how the handles can be interchanged with different designs but no one could tell us if this was true for the bidet handles. I really got the impression that bidets are rarely sold, so no one knows anything about their products.

I tried to install this rough in along with the trim and found there was a missing part. The spray nozzle was missing from the box. Now I have to wait to hear from the Manufacturers or from Amazon. Meanwhile my bathroom is apart. I will update my review when the situation if resolved. I have an update on this review, I called Moen and they are sending me a spray nozzle to replace what was missing. So I will include it it’s the return.

The product itself is fine but for a novice householder and first time bidet buyer it would have been much much better if the whole package was sold together.The term 'rough in valve' needs more explanation for purchasers to explain clearly that this valve is vital for the bidet to function.So it was that we had to call Moen and check that the hardware we purchased was compatible with the rough in valveand this added a lot more to the overall cost.Please consider selling the Moen valve with the bidet faucets- it would be much easier for consumers in my opinion.

It is best to use this bidet rough-in with Moen trim only. I attempted to use it with other manufacturer's faucets and that proved to be a mistake. The installation wasn't a breeze either. Furthermore, this rough-in price when added to the Moen trim that is needed makes it rather expensive.
