Sure you could build your own but this saves a whole lot of time and trouble and is cost effective. I hate paying 2 or 3 times the cost for something that you can build yourself. These are well built and ready to attach to your decoys. I switch from my original decoy lines to these in seconds while standing nearly waist deep in a swamp. They help you organize your decoys as well. You could go out and get all the components and do it yourself if you wish but when I considered doing that the cost difference was not nearly enough to decide this is the way to go. I would think if you have many dozens of decoys it probably is worth your time building your own rigs but for those of us with a dozen or even maybe 2 dozen this is the way to go.

Seem very durable. No complaints in that department. The line is thick and coated. It does however make noise when your decoys are rocking around in a current or next to a rippler. You'll hear the line tapping the side of decoys. I don't think it's a big deal. I'm just a little OCD sometimes and simple things like that stick out to me.

These worked perfectly, kept the decoys right where we wanted them. They are definitely tangle free as I’ve tossed the decoys around and managed to separate them with ease. Definitely worth the purchase.

I rigged up 6 hen mallards and 6 drakes with these for the past duck season and they work perfectly. I started out with the old school method of line and a lead weight, and that just was a mess. my lines would get tangled on each other and no one wants to deal with that at 4 am. So let me give you a piece of advice, spend the extra money and get these awesome weights. The convenient clip allows for easy transportation on your back of you can throw em in a blind bag, as soon as you get to the marsh, attach the carabeaner to your waders and the decoys will follow behind you as you emplace them. Wish the lines were slightly longer, but you can always extend em with some line if ya really need to. Happy hunting gentlemen and ladies!

One crimp on a loop let loose the first season that I hunted with them. 2 failed on the second, 3 on the third. So hey, at least they're consistent! All you have to do is recrimp them, but it's a nuisance having them fall apart in the feild, even if the loop is just for storage purposes.

Spend a little bit more on this instead of buying line and weights separate. Way easier to pick up the decoys and put them out, that matters when it’s freezing cold and your hands are wet.

Great system! Decoys don't get tangled and take a fraction of the time to deploy and retrieve. I only recently learned this rig existed otherwise I would have bought sooner. The line on this might be a bit long for some people depending on the depth of the water you hunt.
