I originally wrote about a week ago that the music cannot be controlled. I was partially wrong.The switch has 3 settings which are hard to see. 2 On and 1 Off. One of the two On switch positions stops the music from playing. But there is no volume control for the other On position that plays the music.In a quiet room it might be considered fairly loud as it can be heard 3 rooms away.The unit itself, is very,very cute. This from a dedicated Lemax customer.Reliability, well I let it run when I got it for 20 minutes. No problem. Other than that, I don't know. It arrived in perfect condition.The size of the people compared with Lemax people overall appear to be a bit smaller. Assuming the people are children on this item. If their adults, then they would be significantly different. Most of them look like children to me. Cant tell about the two of them skating on the ice.If you wish to control it from a remote location with an extension cord and switch. It will startup again if the switch is turned off then back on.

Moments in Time has created a wonderful Winter scene with ice skating and sledding. The little characters add to the imagination and make it so much more fun

In the first hour of operation it began clicking, after inspecting you can see the figures on the belt are hitting the sides of the house each time. Not long after the belt shifts to the side and makes it worse. Eventually it stops because by then they are hitting so badly the belt stops moving but the motors still turn and then it gets hot and will short out and burn up. Poor quality. I am sure some of them out there work ok, but I ordered two of them hoping the second one would be better. It was not. They both had the same problem. Enough said.

The product arrived quickly. When I plugged it in the lights flicker on a couple of things but when I turn it to the other setting there is no music and it just makes a quiet clicking sound like it’s trying to work but can’t
