I was trying to run two monitors from a single display port so that I could have different screen savers on each. This worked perfectly on Win11 with DisplayFusion. Perhaps a little more expensive than cheaper dual monitor solutions, but reliable, supports 4K on both and even different screen refresh rates on each.

It worked for my application for a third monitor. I installed a tv and was tired of people coming around my desk to look at my screen so I mounted a TV I already had dual monitors now I have 3 great item

I'm sure this product would have worked for extending my desktop, but (as I discovered) my GPU doesn't reliably support the added monitor. Returning it, but no complaints on the product itself. Check your hardware capabilities if you're trying something new.

I have been using this splitter for two months, and I just suddenly started getting the black screen flicker reported by other reviews. It worked great while it lasted, and I only wish I knew a way to fix this. Back to a pair of cables I do!

I am using a new Dell Tower PC with Windows 10. EVERY DRIVER AND THE SYSTEM BIOS WAS UPDATED. I have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 installed by Dell. It has a single DisplayPort, a single HDMI port, and a single DVI port. I have two identical LG 27" 4K MONITORS that have been tested to 3840 X 2160 individually using this same PC. I attached the MONOPRICE 2 Port DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub (Product Number 21972) using two different sets of identical DisplayPort 1.4 cables. I switched the cables, I switched the monitors, I used the monitors individually to confirm that they were still able to achieve 3840 X 2160. I just double checked to make sure my system BIOS, and drivers were up to date. Using this product my second monitor was never able to achieve a resolution greater than 2560 X 1600. I gave up on the idea of this product giving me two functional 4K Monitors. I now use a single DisplayPort Cable and a single HDMI Cable in the NVIDIA graphics card. I sent an email to the manufacturer for assistance. I will see if they contact me with a solution or are willing to accept the return of the product.Updated 1/2/2021. I have decreased my refresh rate to 30 fps and now I have two functional 4K monitors using the Display Port MST. I did not see any communication from Monoprice. I was ready to return the product and thought that I would give it one last try. I am using this computer for business so I would much rather have the two monitors with identical resolution than asymmetrical resolution and a higher refresh rate.(By the way the DisplayPort cable attached to this Hub is 16" long. I could not find this information out anywhere in the description.)

I needed to run two monitors in extended (MST) mode (both DP connections) from one DP output on my work computer without having to download any drivers, as this is not allowed by the company, installation is very straightforward, plug everything in and it works. I ordered the DP 1.2 version because of the basic application and price point needed, the newer DP 1.4 might be better suited depending on your needs. The product seems to be very well constructed and has a thick 12" long tail to hook up to the source. Overall very happy with the product.

Well, not sure how I should rate this. When it works it’s perfect. However, every time I turn on my laptop I need to unplug and then plug back in the cables coming from monitors and going into the hub. Otherwise I dont get Displayport signal or at least thats what my monitors say. Both monitors are brand new, I tried 3 different set of cables, I updated the graphics card drivers, unplugged and plugged back in laptop, monitors... Messed with resolution although the current one works perfect, again when it works (2560x1440 @75mhz). Reached out to Monoprice too and they seem to be surprised by the symptoms although i found quite a few people on the internet having the same issue with mst hubs. I wonder if perhaps i got a faulty unit and should exchange

Received 2-Port DisplayPort, at first did not work. Am using both of the same monitors and per manufacture specs have a resolution of 1366 x 768 & refresh rate of 60 HZ. For the 2-Port DisplayPort to work, per manufacture specs, need to have a minimum output resolution of 1920 x 1080 & refresh rate at 60 HZ. Once messing with the Display settings on the PC and looking at manufacture specs, adjusted display settings to 1920 x 1080 & refresh rate: 60 HZ, then worked instantly (stopped flicker on the one monitor not working). Under Windows Display Settings, then had to adjust "Scale and Layout" settings to make the graphics display better. One day one, over all impressed. Using Intel Graphics 4400 video card, running Windows 10, using ONN brand monitors (720p). Hope this helps some of you!

I bought the Amazon warehouse deal which was 50% cheaper. Arrived a sealed bag, but the device looks brand new. Once I plugged it in, it automatically went into extend mode with my monitors (which is what I bought it for). Happy I didn't have to configure anything or download drivers.

Spent too much money for it to not work. Tried to work with the company as they would offer me a refund. They sent me many many many emails to try this and then try that. So complicated. It worked perfectly for the first 10ish months. Then stopped working. I think a wire broke inside but the company was not willing to replace it. Too much money wasted.

I was surprised how well it is working for adding another monitor - I have 2 DP ports on my display card and was looking to add a 3rd monitor. Since the card supported MST, I figured I give this a try and it worked. I have a total of 3 monitors (2 - 1080p monitors connected through the hub) connected to the PC. There is the occasional time when the PC reboots and is unable to find the monitor, but usually a reconnection of the hub fixes the problem.

Do not buy! Stops working only after a few months. Terrible product
