When I initially got the Monstrum 4x magnifier, the height of my Romeo 5 red dot was slightly shorter than the Monstrum magnifier (approximately 4mm) even though they both claimed 1.41" cowitness. So I got this medium-height riser from Monstrum and it worked like a dream.Attaching it to the SIG Sauer Romeo5 made the height between the red dot and the magnifier perfectly centered. The riser seems to have a strong construction with no wobble when attached to the rail and the screws even come with blue Loctite applied to them.

This Monstrum Shrapnel Series Red Dot Riser Mount appears to be a solid, well machined part. It has a smooth finish with no blemishes. It has good fit and finish and is fairly light weight. I like the "sight through" feature for what it offers and because of reduced weight from a solid block.When compared to a similar Vortex product, reasons for the low cost of the Monstrum are revealed. The Monstrum Shrapnel has a single small anti-recoil lug. I have other Monstrum risers that feature two lugs. The Vortex has a more robust single lug and springs to keep the clamp open, when open, which makes for a smoother installation and removal experience. The mounting clamp screws seem a little stiff to turn and on my sample the clamp doesn’t quite entirely close. The Torx screw sockets are pretty shallow and it was not easy to keep the bit engaged and get enough torque to totally tighten the clamp. I was using my high quality Wera Torx 15 driver. I tried again using the supplied Allen wrench and that worked a lot better. Weird.Will the Monstrum Shrapnel riser do the job? Definitely, yes, it will. If your focus is on economy products that do the job, this is the one you want. If, on the other hand, you prefer a higher quality product and are willing to pay for it, there are better choices… “You pays your money and you takes your choiceâ€.

Alright option for a 1.93 T2 mount. Held secure against my rifle and held zero for give/take 500 rounds of 5.56. If you want to try this optic height without paying a bunch for a scalarworks, reptilia, or unity, this is a good option.

I was worried it would have a sloppy fit but the mount fits perfectly with the Romeo5 red dot. I'm very happy with this mount and would recommend to anyone with a SIG Romeo5. The mounting screws come with LocTite already applied. The mount fits yo rail with two screws for a more secure hold, no slop or wiggle. I'm really happy with this mount.

This mount is well made, and is much more substantial than the factory mount that comes with the Sig Romeo 5. The optic fit the mount perfectly, the screws seem to be great quality, and the recoil lug is nice as well. If you are looking for nice mount, but don't want to spend a fortune, this is it!

Worth the buy, holds zero well, has a recoil boss, and all in all is plenty great.

I purchased the medium base because the specs say:“Available in three different heights, measured from the base of the red dot to the base of the mount - Low Profile 1.4 inch, Medium Profile 1.5 inch, and High Profile 1.6 inch - providing precise positioning for your preferred setup.â€The mount I received was .865 tall, which is shorter than the mount I currently have on my red dot by almost 1/4â€. I specifically ordered this to have a taller optic base.I was also looking at their picatinny riser as an alternative, however on that listing they state that“Picatinny base measures 2 inches (or 4 picatinny slots) in length while the top rail measures 30 inches (8 total picatinny slots).†what? How is 4 slots 2†but 8 slots is 30â€? This is my first and last Monstrum product as they can’t seem to master the concept of measuring.
