1998 Cherokee XJ with a Rough Country Front Forged Adjustable Track Bar for 84-01 Jeep XJ/ZJ/MJ - 1042 installed 2019. Rough Country makes good metal beefy components especially for the price but their bushings are always known to be low quality. They were cracked and worn out in a few years causing play on both ends of the RC track bar. I also do live in Northern Utah (dry weather) but only did minor offroading occasionally.Found YouTuber Whip Tips that used these bushings to replace/upgrade the stock RC ones. I didn't want to get replacements from RC. You do have to drill out one set of bushings and reuse the RC 12mm sleeve for the top frame side mount. I used a rented ball joint press kit (used sockets to pretty out RC bushing) and used a 3/4 drill bit, chamfered the insert side holes of the bushings with a box cutter, greased then used a rubber mallet to fit the sleeve in tight. RC forged track bar uses 10mm bottom and 12mm upper bolts. Hopefully these bushings will last a lot longer vs RC stock bushings. Improved tightness and stability of front axle ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ¤™ðŸ½Other option is buying a Iron Off Road 12mm bolt bushing and sleeve that Whip Tips eventually changed the top mount side to. It shouldn't be necessary if you drill and fit the RC 12mm sleeve in tightly.

Everything looks great. But this doesnt fit a stock track bar bolt. Great price, exact same one they gave me at autozone. Same problem. Sleeve is too large for the bolt and that's no good

Unfortunately, my aftermarket tracker came with a larger bolt size, so these original size bushings were too small (That was my fault though, I should have figured that out before purchasing). Thankfully, I was able to borough out larger diameter holes and got them installed. I've been driving around on them for about a month. So far, so good.

Perfect fit on the Jeep. Was easier to install this than it was to get the old one out. Should hold up great. Recommend buying new hardware prior to installing.

Got this to fix the start of a death wobble issue in my 95 Cherokee. Overall install was a bit of a pain but very pleased with it overall.

Installed this bushing in my Rough Country track bar that had less than 500 miles on it now no more death wobble

good quality. As many others had pointed, the center pin hole is slightly larger than the stock track bar bolt. For my application, it worked out great since I was upgrading the bolt anyways. If you watch Bleeping Jeep (youtube channel) Matt has a great video on how to upgrade this bolt. The stock bolt is not strong enough once you start lifting things. If I recall correctly I used a bolt I had removed from a stock shock, it is about the perfect size. I just needed to drill out the stock hole on the axle bracket. If you are lifting the jeep on your own (AS much XJ owner do) you should be able to tackle this project. As far as bolting the nut, I didn't use a wrench, there is a small opening on the bracket where you can insert a flat screwdriver (Paralelt t othe axel tube) and jam the nut. This allows you to tighten it up to spec.

Ordered as a replacement for RE1687. Amazon advised it was a replacement for the RE part. RE1687 is for a 1/2 bolt. This is for a 10mm bolt which is stock size. Had to bore out the bushing to work. Will have to replace once RE comes available. The bushing seems to be quality and a bit stiffer than the RE. To bad it had to be modified.
