First off, I want to say I was surprised that there were no instructions. But quickly realized from other posts that there is a Quadratec Youtube video that had detailed video instructions. After completing the instruction process, I quickly realized that there is no way to have written instructions that would be as detailed as the video. At first, I was a little concerned about the complexity of the process watching the video but it ended up being very easy. Just follow the step-by-step video. The product is great and I saved a bunch of money by doing it myself instead of the dealer.

Not sure why Amazon says this won't fit my vehicle, every other website states it will. Easy to set the key up if you watch the video on a common Jeep parts website that starts with Q. Works flawlessly, and gives piece of mind. Price was half from this seller vs that same popular website, and I'm sure that's cheaper than Mopar also. Way too expensive, but it's the price you pay for security now a days.

This is an easy upgrade that just requires a little time and patience, but gives the owner the ability to use a single key for everything on the Jeep.The setting of the tumblers takes a little time and I recommend looking at some online videos before attempting to do this, unless you are a locksmith. I'm not a locksmith and I was able to do it with no problems - I even thought that the tumbler setting process was fun.

After reading some of the reviews, I had my doubts about how complicated it would be setting up the lugs for the keys. I followed the instructions and a youtube video and I found it to be very simple--took maybe 5-10 minutes. Having it work with the ignition key, and not needing a second key, is awesome. Can only recommend this for anyone with a 2019 Jeep JLU. Piece of mind to ensure no one steals or tampers with your gas as you're camping and stuff. Can only recommend.

This lock has to accommodate all Jeep keys so it's a little bit of a challenge to put together, but NOT difficult at all! I used a YouTube video that was excellent and made it very easy. It installed on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler with ease. Looks like a solid, sturdy lock and I know that the Jeep's fuel tank will be secure as we tow it behind our RV and take it to various campgrounds / places we're unfamiliar with.

I found a good video online which described in detail the best logical approach to matching the correct pins to my Jeep key. Even though this gas cap is pretty expensive, I did not want an extra key that I would need to keep track of to gas up my 2020 Rubicon. The process off finding the right pins was pretty tedious and required a good deal of patience. For example, I found pins which worked on the left side, but would not allow all pins on the right side to be flush with the cylinder. Plus I dropped the springs a thousand times. Even using small needle nose pliers, they were hard to hang onto. I did the process at my desk which was probably not the best location. It would have helped had I used a big table. Once I found the correct combination of pins, the rest was easy. They is a bit of trepidation when I installed it on my Jeep wondering if I had done it correctly, but it worked perfectly. One thing the video did not show was how to remove the plastic lanyard of the old gas cap. I learned that I needed to just strongly pull it out. Getting the new one gas cap lanyard installed also took direct firm pressure, but then it snapped into place. I would buy this again just for the convenience of no additional key to fill gas. Just need your fob key with extendable metal key.

It’s a small puzzle…don’t get discouraged. Best to have small needle nose pliers for the tiny springs you insert into the locking mechanism. You’ll need a little patience and perseverance. The left and right side of the lock has 2 slots and 2 pin holes apiece. The kit comes with 8 small bags containing 3 plates in each bag. ABCD Left, e.g. AL (A Left) and ABCD Right, e.g. AR (A Right). Also, you’ll need an area of flat space to layout this small puzzle. The main objective is for the plates to line up when you insert your FOB Key. The plates should never protrude and should be flushed with the cylinder when you insert the key. And should slide in /out without problems. If plate protrudes from top of cylinder when key is inserted or difficult to insert, then it is not the proper plate. You may need to utilize plates from A-D. Key should slide in with ease and go all the way with 1/4†from the back. Quadratec has a video and recommend one plate at a time. I sampled the left side and made sure both plates worked then I jumped to right side. Once your key has agreed with the access on the left and right, keep those plates in place with your fingers, and keep key in, then insert the lock pin (small black plastic plate) that is inserted in the side slotted of the cylinder, push flush, then remove key and that should keep everything held together. Add the grease around the locking mechanism with fingers then insert cylinder into the gas cap push and turn….should take anywhere from.15-30min. Ta-Da!!

Dealer wanted over $200 for the cap and $40 to set up the cap for my key fob, NOT! Go on QUADRATEC website and watch Rob show you how to do the lock setup, very easy, did my in about 15 minutes.
