THE MOREY M38 - 38" BODYBOARD

MOREY M38

Morey M38 - 38" Bodyboard - Perfectly sized for young adults and smaller riders, this lightweight yet sturdy model is ideal as a starter board. It will deliver consistently high performance as riders improve their skills. Featuring dual channels and a crescent tail, it offers excellent control and maneuverability for discerning riders. The flexible design ensures optimal performance, even in colder water.

MOREY M38

  • PHUZION CORE > Is a strong and durable material, featuring a closed cell foam structure that provides responsiveness and is suitable for use in both warm and cold waters.
  • CRESCENT TAIL > A tail type that was designed for all wave conditions. The crescent tail has less contact with the face of the wave and increases the bodyboard's fluidity, especially in barreling, close-out, or shore break conditions.
  • IXL DECK > Impact absorbing material, durable soft and light top deck layer for comfort.
  • HDPE SLICK > High Density Polyethylene slick bottom that is specially formulated for Dow core boards. HDPE slick bottoms offer proper flex and projection for added control and maneuverability.
  • CHANNELS > Grooved slots on the bottom which helps minimize trubulunce and helps increase the boards hold to the waves.
  • COIL LEASH > This durable wrist leash and plug system will keep you securely connected to your board.
Bodyboard Size Chart

Morey Bodyboard Sizing

  • When selecting a bodyboard, both weight and height are crucial factors to consider for optimal performance.
  • Our size chart serves as a helpful guide, but you can also use what's known as a "rough sizing" method. To do this, hold the bodyboard in front of you; the ideal size should extend from your knees to your chin.
  • For heavier riders, a wider board is recommended to provide additional flotation and buoyancy.
  • If you plan on riding primarily small waves, opting for a larger board will also help with flotation. Conversely, if you're aiming to tackle larger waves, a smaller board is preferable as it allows more of your body to be submerged, enhancing control.
  • Below are some straightforward guidelines to assist you in determining the best bodyboard size for you.
  • BODYBOARD LENGTH
  • Your board, when standing on its tail (the back end) should come up to roughly within an inch to either side of your belly button. If you normally ride small waves, an inch above, big waves an inch below. If you are a bigger individual that doesn't meet height standards, then you'll need a board that is shorter and wider.
  • BODYBOARD WIDTH
  • You should be able to hold the board comfortably under your arm and against your side without much if any slack between your armpit and the rail. Again, the type of waves you ride may help your decision. Wide boards for smaller waves, narrower for bigger waves. Big rider? You need a wider board.
MOREY M38

MOREY BODYBOARD'S

  • The modern bodyboard has its origins in California, USA, specifically at Doheny State Beach. In 1971, Tom Morey was watching some young kids surfing on polyethylene foam logs that were held together with PVC pipe. Morey was inspired by their creativity and saw an opportunity to create a new type of surfboard that would be more accessible to a wider range of people.
  • Over the years, Morey has worked tirelessly to perfect the bodyboard, experimenting with different materials and designs to achieve the optimal combination of speed, maneuverability, and durability. Today, the bodyboard is a popular choice for surfers of all ages and skill levels, and is widely recognized as a legitimate form of wave riding in its own right.
  • Despite its humble beginnings, the bodyboard has come a long way since Tom Morey first watched those kids surfing on foam logs at Doheny State Beach. Thanks to the dedication and innovation of Morey and other pioneers in the sport, the bodyboard has become a beloved and respected fixture of the surfing world.

Having moved next to the shores, we've bought multiple boards you find at Walmart, at the local beach shop, Publix, name it. Less than a season's worth, and my kids aren't necessarily rough with their toys compared to others, our boards would break a few months later. So every year, I'd get them each between 1 and 2 boards. Paid more for these Morey and instantly, you can tell this will be worth it. They're thick, seem sturdier and the underneath surface made my kids go nuts with how much faster these go in the waves. One day at the beach so far and they were losing their minds! I'll try to keep a mental note to come edit this about the durability after we've been to the beach a few times, but I'm pretty convinced I made the right long-term choice.

Fantastic boards and the price reflects the quality. My boys have beat the heck out them and still look ready for next season.

Very disappointed in this purchase. We got this board for our boys who are 9 and 12. We used it for one 4 day trip to the beach without issue. On our next trip, the board developed a bubble. The bubble grew and the board snapped on the second day. While we were at the beach that day we saw another person with a Morey body board and it too had a huge bubble. Based on our experience and other reviews I have seen on here, we will not be buying another Morey board.

I purchased a two pack of the M38 boards and they bubbled on the first day at the beach. I have a Morey bored that is now 25-30 years old that is in better condition. This is not the quality I would expect from Morey. The boards were removed from the original packaging and carried to the beach in SC. Within 20 mins, bubbles formed due to heat. Considering this product is designed for the beach, I'm surprised that it had this issue.

Great looking board and the perfect size for my 8 year old daughter. Unfortunately, the surface started having a huge bubble near the bottom. I can normally slowly push it out to make it flat again, but the adhesive has deteriorated and so the bubble now comes back ever time it is used. Very disappointed as this is a premium product and I expected quality for more that just my first few times taking it to the beach.
