Man, I have tried several types of hoops and frames for punch needle embroidery. These just work the best hands down. So unless you want a large wood frame and if you want to easily take your project with you when you go someplace, invest in a few Morgan hoops. I've got them now from 5" through 17" and they all work great and all make doing punch needle as well as any other kind of embroidery easier to do and more fun in the process. A good hoop is a definite must have.

This is a great tool. I had used wooden ones in the past of the same size, but they invariably broke under the stress and fell apart. This one works great and I believe it will hold up for a long time and I will get lots and lots of use out of it. Well worth the money.

I have been hand stitching quilts for over 30 years and I admit that I was somewhat skeptical about this product. After all...a quilting hoop is a fairly basic design. But this one far surpasses all others! The added ridge and groove is an awesome addition to the basic hoop. It keeps the tension taught when stored and is easy for novice as well as expert quilters alike to use. I brought it to a class session yesterday and one of the novice quilters grabbed it and it was easy for them to use. I gave it four stars because it is my opinion that the thumb screw could use a bit more space between the thumb screw and the hoop...just to allow for those of us with larger thumbs to comfortably use the thumb screw.

This is a really great 14†hoop. It is large enough that i can use it formy hand quilting and the design really grips the fabric.

I do traditional rug hooking. This hoop holds my linen backing taut and gives me a large surface area for hooking.

Excellent quality and very good on holding on to fabric whilst embroidering. Also much cheaper buying this from the US than in the UK! Only downside was having to wait weeks for delivery.
