Motorcraft parts are extremely reliable. This was an easy and cheap part to replace. I believe I probably had the original camshaft sensor on the car so I replaced it even though I was not having a problem. Disconnect the Negative Battery terminal before you begin. Take a little motor oil and rub it on the part that goes in the engine block. This will help the part slide in. I just took out my oil dipstick and got a little oil. If you are throwing code P0340 then this will probably not solve your problem as you will probably need a new Alternator.

Vehicle: 2004 F150 Lariat, 5.4 Triton:I was pretty sure these wouldn't fix my P0345 trouble code, but they were a cheap diagnosis, so what the heck...Having already did a full timing job on my 5.4 Triton a few years ago, I wasn't ready to accept my Ford OEM timing gear was already failing me so I opted to swap out my sensors as I did not do this during my timing job. They're cheap so why not give it a try...Turns out I was correct and it was NOT my timing components. It was a loose wire on one of my cam censor connectors (see photo). It was an intermittent contact inside the connector causing the P0345 code and a nasty buck or miss-like condition in the engine while driving. Sorta like shutting the key off/on quickly or hitting a large pothole. BAM!I replaced the connector and the CEL and code never came back! YAY! So word of advice before replacing these censors: (1) these sensors RARELY fail and (2) check your connector and/or wire harness FIRST! Give the connector and wires a gently tug to see if it comes disconnected or the wire pops out (like mine did). And PS: The cam sensor connectors are also the same as the coil connectors, or at least they are on my 5.4. So grab a box of them to keep on hand especially WHEN you do your timing job! Be sure to check new connectors as well before you install them. TUG TUG!Hope this helps!

This literally took me 2 minutes and 15 seconds to install “Both sidesâ€â€¦ yes I timed it!I was getting a weird bucking feeling right around the 45 MPH range and my CEL would not turn on…. I had brand new Ignition coils in and spark plugs so I knew it wasn’t that. Eventually my truck shook like a leaf and stalled. The CEL flickered and I turned my truck off. I plugged in my OBDII reader and it had a pending code for a camshaft retarded code.I recently had a timing job done and thought it may have been a bad VCT solenoid. I rarely take my truck in unless I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. The mechanic told me he saw the same pending code and I mentioned I thing it might be the Cam pos sensor. He swapped the sensors on sides. He said if it happens again on the other side then you know it’s the Cam Pos Sensor. Said to bring it back and he can put one in. I ask how much and he told X amount of $… told him I could buy them for way cheaper and put them in myself. He laughed and said if you can get them for that much you are in business and I sound like I know what I’m talking about…Moral of the story is, buy these even if you aren’t sure. They are SUPER easy to install and wish I would have made this a sooner maintenance upkeep.

Works just fine, but since it is OEM, it is to be expected. It is a pain to replace since you have to remove the A/C compressor to get to it. 3 bolts on the A/C compressor, only one is easy to get to. One is not too bad with a swivel and extension, but the 3rd you must have a regular wrench to get to. Not real hard, just takes a while and is a pain.Once the compressor is out of the way replacement is pretty easy, just remove the electrical connector and the bolt and take it out. Clean the mounting area, apply some oil to the o-ring and reinstall. This did not fix my problem (turns out I had a bad PCM), but for the price it is a maintenance item on a truck with 180,000+ miles.

bought this for my 07 fx4 5.4 3v to fix the camshaft sensor code. my problem ended up being my timing, but the old sensor was worn down by the timing chain rubbing it so it was bad anyway. replaced with this and redid the timing and absolutely no problems, great price and great product.

I ordered an aftermarket set prior to buying this that caused my F150 to begin shutting off. I removed them and ordered the Motorcraft OEM ones and now my truck is fine, always buy OEM if you can.

Le colis à été déposé sur les marches extérieur sans cotre marche, le vent l’a fait tomber derrière au sol. Ma femme l’a trouvé par hasard. Donc déçu du livreur.
