This modem has worked well so far. I returned the modem from Comcast, that will save me ~$10.00 per month in rental fees. This modem will pay for itself in a year.I purchased a reworked unit. It works well, but I have issues with some of my older smart plugs that use the lower 2.4 Mhz (I think that is the freq) in making a connection. Not sure if it is a issue with the modem or with the older items. I have a Ring security system, so I use that unit to connect with some items. The installation directions are not correct. Basically, I had to plug it in and connect to my Comcast cable. Then call Comcast to have them set up the modem on their end. Don't waste you time trying to set it up yourself. Once Comcast did their thing, it worked fine.

This is the second unit I purchased, both of them were defective. The first one would lock up and all the lights would flash. The second unit intermittently disconnects from the Internet, sometimes I have to recycle the power to reconnect.

The good when it works its great. The bad we have had connectivity issues since getting this modem/router. Bummer as my old Motorola lasted 15 years with reliable connectivity. It was only replaced due to being outdated and water damage due to a pipe break at the house.I don't know if the connectivity issues are due to the modem being refurbished or the modem itself. I know I can't afford to be randomly disconnected well in the middle of a work project. Which happened twice in my first work from home day with this modem. The disconnect occurred well on a hardwired line, wifi devices in the house also lost connectivity. Our printer hasn't been able to connect to the router properly and our streaming devices (2 wifi and 1 hard wired) have been lagging as well.Overall in comparison to my old surboard SB610 this modem was a downgrade due to the connectivity issues we have experience, even though speed tests were 2-3 times faster on average.

It works great in our rental condo to provide wifi. My cable provider got it registered with no issues and the internet is fast. The wireless is not as good but fine for a small condo - if you have a house though I'd recommend just using this as a modem (turn off the wifi) and use a mesh network for your wifi. The range of this one seems to drop off a bit as you get away from it.This was refurbished but worked as new.

Motorola has got it figured out. This was the easiest setup I have ever done. If you are renting a modem from cable company, you are getting screwed out of over $180 a year. Enjoy it. OR for a fraction of that amount you can install this cable modem-router by yourself and save a bundle. I tested my download and upload speeds before and after installation. They were virtually the same. Same performance and savings too?

the 2.4 g is fine but the 5g barely reaches upstairs. The modem from my ISP had a lot better range. I will send this back. Well i started the return and ordered a different one. The next day my 5G was strong every where. Not sure why that is. I'm still going through with the return in fear there is an intermittent issue. Well i stopped the return and kept it. now the 5g is weak again. Ill give few more days may go ahead send back. I sent it back for replacement and the one I received has very good 5G signal strength. seems to work well.I changed to 5 star because this one worked as expected and the replacement was sent immediately. This is why I buy from Amazon.
