Very sturdy, easy assembly, looks fantastic! Love the different skull plate options. My stepdad only shot one bull in his life and had made the antlers into a hanging rack. After he passed, I wanted to preserve them as a euro mount and this turned out so wonderful, that I will now use them for future sheds that I find. Highly recommend. The skull can be customized, textured, stained and modified quite easily. It looks very good on the wall.

I debated on this for a few years, I had a nice pair of 6x6 sheds I found. Some negative reviews steered me away. I’m glad I finally decided to check it out. Couple of things to know, it will take some time to get right, very awkward to mount large sheds. Some people complain about it being too white but if you have your skulls beetle cleaned or done by a taxidermist it is very close to that brightness. Obviously if you usually bury your skulls or leave them outside, this product will seem unusually bright. I wish it came with an extra screw or two as they do strip easily. Finished product looks super sweet! Get this if you have the time, room, patience.

This is a really sharp-looking product once it is done. It proved to be quite a bit more difficult than the deer version I also used recently. That being said, it is still far simpler than boiling a skull down. It takes me at least four hours to boil and scrape down a skull for a European mount, and this took me about half the time and saved me a lot of mess. The main downside I found with both this skull and the deer version of this skull were that the primary screws for securing the head were ridiculously sized for such an application. They are too large and the threads are far too aggressive, making them difficult to screw in. You have to drill a very large pilot hole in the antler, and even with a pilot hole that is nearly the diameter of the screw's threads, I still stripped out the head on one of the screws trying to put it in. I eventually went with some drywall screws because the ones that came with the kit are not suitable for this application.Another thing to keep in mind is that the pedicles will most likely not be in the same alignment as the ones off of the original animal, and a significant amount of tweaking may need to be done to get the alignment correct. I drilled multiple holes in the base of the antlers before I got them lined up close to their original positioning. I think having a dremel tool available (as they advise in their instructions) would be very helpful for adjusting the angles of the pedicles to get the antlers positioned correctly.Overall, I was quite satisfied with how it turned out. It looks great, and it won't turn yellow like the other skulls I have done with peroxide. It is a good product, and I will buy more in the future as the need arises, but there are a few annoying aspects of the installation that would be relatively easy for the company to rectify.

I found this set spring 2018 and they looked to be a year old unfortunately. Went through and refurbished the antlers with multiple treatments of coffee grounds, then finished with a light clear coat and then used steel wool to clean up the really shiny spots as a result of the clear. Mounting shed antlers is tricky and having someone help you is necessary. I simply made a line between the antler and the base of the skull cap with a dry erase as the width I wanted and drilled the holes accordingly with the skull cap to guide where the holes needed to be. Screwing into bone is tough so eat your wheaties.

I’m torn on how high to rate this. Getting the antlers on in a good position took a lot of grinding down the plastic to get a natural angle. Without altering the plastic, either the brow tines or main beams would touch. I also needed to buy more filler since what was provided wasn’t enough. After hours of getting the antlers how I wanted them, my next problem was that the plastic was too white and didn’t look natural. Some sandpaper and Rust-Oleum Matte French Cream spray paint fixed that problem. I am also ranking it low on value for money due to how much more it is for the elk compared to the deer.Overall, I am still giving this four stars. It is an overpriced product that takes some effort to get it how I wanted to look, but the finished product looks nice.

I read some reviews on this that we’re not very positive but it worked out great for the set of red deer sheds I have.
