First off, I have 3 different monitor arms from Mount-It!, and all 3 are of exceptional quality and craftsmanship. I was searching for a stand for my Native Instruments Maschine Studio (hereafter, "MS"), and I noticed this item (MI-7945) from Mount-It! brand. I purchased it hoping that I could put the MS on the larger stand, and also add a DJ laptop shelf I'd bought separately to hold my laptop. To my surprise, the MS fits almost perfectly on the larger tray. The width is so close to that there is less than a quarter inch on either side of the MS. There are a few inches of room in the depth of the tray. The DJ laptop stand fit perfectly on the smaller part of the cart. All told, I couldn't be happier with how well it fits my needs. As for the item itself, it's easy to assemble, but it's important to pay close attention to the instructions. There were a few times during assembly in which I hastily completed some steps only to find that there actually IS only one way that some things can go even though it seems there are more than one. For example, when attaching the main vertical pole to the base, it first has to be aligned very straight or the plastic, cosmetic collar will not seat correctly, and if you attach it a quarter turn off from where it should be, the height holes for the shelf poles will be a quarter turn off and your shelves will be perpendicular to the way they should be. Also, the mounting of the pole to one of the bases seemed straightforward until I realize the holes only line up correctly one way, and the other possible way would cause the small shelf to overlap the larger shelf. Had I taken my time and made fewer assumptions, the assembly would have been particularly easy. Because I rushed in my over-confidence, it took me about another 5 minutes more than it should have. I'm a fairly handy person and almost never have trouble with IKEA furniture and the like, and this was no exception. It comes with everything you need for installation. The parts are all sturdy and well-made with nice additional welds to strengthen joints.Mount-It! brand continues to impress me. I just can't believe how fortunate I am that this fits everything so perfectly.

Has worked well for my projector for outside. I have my projector on my patio table and thought piece of cake to just put something under the legs to get the picture set perfect in the screen but after everything I tried to maneuver, I got too frustrated and ordered this with hopes it would solve it easily and it definitely did. Since my patio table has removable ceramic tiles, I just took one tile out, put the base under the table and inserted the adjustable platform down into it, raise to the perfect height and angle and perfect! If I have to remove it, I keep the same angle set, and very easy to set back up. Very sturdy, easy to assemble without directions and I would expect to get many years out of it.

The Mount-it!! Laptop Tray is a decent product but after using it. I found that I might need something more versatile. The build quality is standard. For the price, it’s decent. Assembling it was fairly simple but the instructions could be more detailed in terms of orientation. I ended up orienting the projector tray wrong and had to disassemble it to fix the issue of it not sitting in the base properly and flushed with the laptop tray. The products biggest feature is its overall tray size which is the biggest I found. Other than that, it doesn’t offer anything special. The design could definitely be improved as the base is a fixed height and the trays adjust from that height which doesn’t allow it to go lower. The tilt feature is standard and is only held by a nob. It would’ve been nice if they added a locking mechanism along with a swivel function. Overall, the product does what it’s supposed to but it isn’t the greatest.

It says that it's adjustable, but there are three preset heights. Only two of those presets are realistic. If you chose the highest setting, there wouldn't be anything to support the work area. The lowest pre-set works for sitting in a chair, couch, or bed. Probably not great if you want to stand at a work station. The top provides a large work area, but this comes at a price. The base is not heavy enough to keep the whole thing steady. Seems a bit rickety and jiggles easily. Also, the screws go into nylon threads, so you can only tighten so much. Over time, I question if the nylon bushings will strip out. The item is cheap enough if you only need something for light duty.

My new laptop tray is super sturdy, nicely adjustable in height to my couch, a chair or to match my desk height as an accessory surface. I find it very comfortable to use by being able to tilt the laptop surface (the mouse surface is not tiltable) and moves easily when you need it to. My husband wants one now. He found it easy to put together as well. This is worth the price.

This item arrived unusable due to misaligned holes where the knobs should go to hold the arms tight and allow adjustment. When I contacted Amazon they said to contact the company and the company passed the buck back to Amazon. Really disappointed!

It's not an engine stand, so don't overload it and it should work fine.
