The letters and the box it came in definitely captured some the Montessori ideas. Montessori believe in having beautiful things for children - it respects the task the child is learning. This box was so much fun to open and to discover letters with my granddaughter. She loves letters at the moment so being able to hold each letter was very rewarding for her. Spelling and sounding out the letters to words is going to really crystallize and create a great foundation for her when she starts reading.

When I first received these wooden movable letters from Amazon, the set was missing three of the letter T. I emailed the seller and they promptly mailed me the replacements, and followed up to make sure I received them. Mistakes happen, but it’s a company’s response that really matters. I’m impressed with Montessori & Me and their customer service, and wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again. The set is a nice quality, and I appreciate the lines printed inside the lid of the box. Only a week with this set has already helped my 4 year old begin to read!

Update** customer service reached out to me and made sure to remedy this situation. They sent me missing letters. Thank you.Giving 3 stars. Overall its a nice product but i was missing F and I and instead i has Js in those slots so couldnt use it much. No product support from this seller so i couldnt use it.

I like the style of the letters and the quality of the wood pieces. However, I was surprised to see the height of the lowercase i extends above the midline (the line itself, not including the dot). It was also a bummer to find that the line spacing on the bottom of the work board doesn’t allow enough room for the descending letters to fit properly on the lines (or the tall letters if you flip the board over). I decided it wasn’t worth returning it though, since we don’t need to fill all three lines at once anyway. For the price, I was surprised that more attention wasn’t paid to those two details. But I will say this has been a huge help in teaching my son to pay attention to how to place his letters on the lines. This set is also making spelling lessons more manageable for him since he doesn’t have to write the words but he can still see the letters in front of him as he sounds words out. The box/board is large (clipboard for size comparison) so a little hard to store. A smaller version would be nice, but overall I am glad to have it and we put it to use regularly.

Absolutely beautiful! You can tell by the look and feel that everything is made with high quality materials. I love that the lid to the box doubles as a template for the letters, so you don’t have to purchase a separate mat. I have been so impressed with the quality and thoughtful products that this company produces! My daughter is not ready to start using this set yet, but I love knowing that I’m prepared to introduce it when she is ready.
