It is just what I needed! My previous grinder was the type where you hold down the button to grind and just pray/guess/check to see if the grind comes out right. In this one, I put the beans in, select the approx number of cups for the amount of beans I put in, and push the button, and voila! Works perfectly! The grind comes out exactly correct. As for the sound, well, it's probably best not to do it while someone else is sleeping, but otherwise it is really not at all a big deal. It's the typical sound of a grinder (one that you haven't paid a hundred or more for). Considering that even for the max amount of beans, the time of grinding is maybe 20 seconds. Don't know about you, but for 20 seconds I ain't spending triple-plus for something quieter. It's not that bad or important, at least for me!The only possible 'con' is that the top part that you turn anti-clockwise to take off to empty the grounds is a bit tricky to do at first. Once you get the hang of it, it's fine. But the first time is a bit of a struggle. (But don't give up! It does get better. 😊 )

I had an older version of this grinder for several years before it finally died. This one is even better with some convenient features. You no longer have to hold the button down to grind, you just push it and with the settings you put in place you just push a button and it grinds based on those settings (so now you are free to use both hands to cover your ears, which I recommend - it is loud). Also the new 'Twist &Clean' feature is awesome. I typically grind a whole bag of coffee, so I'm grinding numerous small bowls, and I used to have to scrape it out between each one, but with the 'Twist & Clean' feature it does it very well. Would definitely buy this again.

Used to grind fresh coffee beans. Settings for different amounts. Easy to remove cover. Very loud for me, I use earplugs.

PROS:-easy to clean initially-easy to assemble- grind settings seem accurate- automatic stop means I don't have to manually pulse the beans to get the right grind- easy to remove the bowl- decent priceCONS:- needs a few more cup settings--I make 7 cups, but the grinder only has settings for 4, 6, 10, or 12; I did notice the numbers in the description but I presumed there were little nozzles/notches in between for odd cup numbers (I played around with the grind settings and found one that works for my 7 cups)- because of how the bowl is designed, I can't remove all of the ground coffee; I can tip most of it out at an angle, but some still remains so I use my brush to get it. Even using my brush carefully doesn't get it all, however, because the ground coffee gets caught between the black lines around the bowl interior and the top of the bowl. No matter how many times I brush around the bowl or move the lines in the bowl around, some of the ground coffee is still stuck. Turning the bowl all the way over and brushing doesn't work either. I'm probably being a little picky, but I like to get all of the ground coffee out of the grinder. I hate to feel like I'm wasting coffee, even if it's just a small amount.I found another automatic grinder for a similar price but with more cup settings and a simple stainless steel bowl without any lines so I'm going to try that one instead.

This coffee bean grinder is easy to use. It operates in a clean manner, leaving all the ground coffee within the grinding chamber. It doesn't allow some of the grounds to escape the grinding chamber and cause a mess to the exterior of the grinding chamber and to the countertop. However, when this coffee grinder sometime in the future needs replacement I think I'll spring for a more expensive model. One with a bean hopper that feeds the beans into a grinder and deposits the ground beans into a lower chamber. Why, you ask? So as not to have to extract the grounds from around the cutting blade and to grind a greater volume of beans. I see that Mr. Coffee makes such a model and I might have enjoyed it even more than the model I did buy.

I have had a few coffee grinders over the years. This is the best one yet. It is sort of the 2nd generation of Mr. Coffee bean grinders and has a lot of great features. I really like the fact that it is automatic -- you don't have to hold the button down. It has 5 grind settings instead of 3 that the previous style had. It is easy to set the number of cups that you are grinding. If you always do the same number of cups, you don't have to change it. I have read lots of reviews about how noisy it is -- not much louder than any other grinder that I have had. If you set the grind, put in the recommended amount of beans, and select the number of cups, it grinds perfectly. The cleaning is the same as the old style -- twist the cap back and forth and it cleans the grinds off the sides and bottom. Not sure if some people writing reviews actually understand how this thing works. Don't let the negative reviews put you off -- it works great!
