Since this woodruff key is installed on the crankshaft I was expecting to get 4° at the camshaft. Turns out this is exactly 2° at the camshaft. Just would like to know that ahead of time. I found this to be an easier adjustment than getting cam bushings and drilling out the cam timing gear. Fit my Chevy 350 crank perfectly. Position the offset portion according to crankshaft rotation. For a sbc it is clockwise to advance,counterclockwise to retard. After degreeing my camshaft I found I was at 6 overall advance, including the ground in advance. The adjustment in the timing set brought me back 8 degrees, or to 2 deg retard. This 2 degree adjustment put me back to a straight up cam position which works fine for my application.
