Based on the extensive experience of a good friend who heats his cabin with a Mr. Heater brand propane heat, I invested in this filter for the Mr. Heater we added to our travel trailer. So far it works perfectly and eliminated the worry of clogged propane line in cold weather.A reasonable and prudent precaution for the cost.

I've had mine for over 3 years and my space heater is still working fine. I used to have to replace them every winter. I didn't know propane was dirty. Definitely paid for itself.

Essential for operation of your Mr. Heater and bbq tank propane. I've found that Blue Rino brand is very "dirty" propane and clogs your heater with a light oil without this filter - after only about 10 or 20 hours operation. Each filter lasts me for 3 or 4 months of daily operation before filling up.

Don't know how well it works without cutting it in half and looking at the filter media. Haven't had any problems with my heater though. I'm using this in tandem with a 20 lb propane tank and 10' of hose. I did have some initial difficulties though. I installed this, the hose and connected to the propane tank. Opened the tank valve and got the pilot lit, I turned up the heater and it would burn for a few seconds and then go out. This happened numerous times. I tried the set up after removing the filter and the heater worked flawlessly. I thought I had a faulty filter, but I later discovered by accident (after not willing to give up) that you need to connect everything, including the filter, and let the system sit under pressure for quite some time before using the heater. How long? I don't know, but I suspect for at least 30 minutes. Then everything works like it's supposed to. That's the reason for 4 stars, the instructions I had never mentioned this and the fact that I couldn't definitively say how well the filter actually works.

Before I thought waist the money but after 4-5 months use line clogged. I was lucky to fire up again but spend hours in 5 days. Little by little first few second next try 5 second and so on. After 10-20 attempt you need to let it sit like an hour to allow the oil to leak back to bottom of line and fire again with smoke. Keep hand lighter ready because easy to fire the lid. YOU MUST BUY if you don't want to tear in a part and clean up every time clocks.

If this inexpensive filter keeps me from throwing away another heater, it's absolutely worth it. I run propane heaters a lot in the fall and winter. Currently, Bluu heaters with thermostats. They seem to run better with a filter installed. I've run Mr. Heater Buddy heaters for a year or so, and then they clog. I tried disassembling & and unclogging them, and nearly had a house fire. Ha. DYI propane? Not a good idea. Filter to prevent problems? Good idea.

I just has a propane accessory port installed on my camper vans propane 7.9Gal tank so I can run a small bbq etc via a 12 ft hose. In the past I had a hose leach oil out the rubber hose clogging my jets on a camp stove ruining it. I tested it yesterday using my 1165po Napoleon TravelQ RV sized Travel Q bbq and it worked perfect no loss in flame size and should project my jets from oil being forced out of the rubber in the hose ruining the jets. My onboard tank is 7.9 gallons and this worked perfect.

Absolutely perfect, I don’t know why these are not available everywhere, no more pulling my stove apart and cleaning out the small jet holes
