I wanted something to help create my own patterns and, specifically, get the perfect shape for my inseam! This is flexible enough to get the shape easily, and sturdy enough to maintain the shape even when moved around.

Handy item for tracing and transferring curved surface lines for cutting. I'm using it to transfer curved interface lines from an existing sidewalk to a 12" x 12" paver area that will lie next to the walkway. Down side of the product is approx 2" of both ends of the ruler are NOT flexible - changing this would make the ruler much easier to use from the end of the ruler, rather than having to work around the deficiency. Other products I looked at had the same issue.

There are a plethora of straight, hard, long or short measuring tools for sewing (or quilting) but this is the first I've seen that accommodates curves and holds the shape so the measurement isn't guesswork!

I am learning tailoring. Armscyes are a challenge. After fussing around with strips of paper and a standard measuring tape, I went looking for something like this. A God-send to be sure. I am still learning how to use it to its full potential, but it was worth the $.
