The French curves are way better than what I expected for the money. My professional set is packed away from moving and I have not yet found it so I bought this set as a backup. I really like it. The color is opaque enough to see them clearly on my table, but transparent enough to be able see through them clearly when necessary. Unlike what some reviewers reported on theirs, I found no rough edges or uneven spots. The pen indents on both sides work just fine. About the other pieces, I have a pro set so don't use these. They're fine for an artist, but not so much for drafting or mechanical drawings. The circle templates measure the exact size of the circle you'd want to use them for, so once you go around the inside with your nice, sharp pencil, the circle will be smaller than what you want. Example: you want to draw a 1" circle. The hole in the template is exactly 1", so your pencil line, taken from the inside of a 1" circle will be a bit smaller that 1". Anyway, it's a handy set of templates for a lot of uses, just not for making accurate mechanical drawings. Bottom line: Even without the template set, the French curves are a quality package at a reasonable price.

For my drawing: this set is by far my favorite that I’ve used. Lol and I’ve used a lot of different products; in-fact, sometimes it feels like my actual hobby is collecting art supplies :p. Anyways; the stencils are made from a quality plastic (at least I think it’s plastic) they are bendable and don’t snap in two. The measurements are clearly marked, and hasn’t started to fade; even after traveling in my backpack for a month and rubbing up against things. I honestly don’t use stencils or French curves very often while drawing. But it’s an important tool when I do need something to be proportionally “perfectâ€. Although, the small stencil that comes with this set is actually one of my favorite drawing tools; because its small enough to survive as a bookmark in my sketch book. Personally I would buy this set again just for that little stencil.The French Curves are okay for what I wanted. I’m not a big fan of the hard plastic; it will scratch and I’m sure it wouldn’t be tough to accidentally break one while traveling or w/e. But I can’t knock it for that, because it keeps the set affordable. However, one critique about the curves that I think is fair: I wish the edges of the curves were raised a bit more to help me keep the edge off the page while using these to ink. If you get ink on the edge of the curve, it’s easy to make a mistake while lifting the curve off the page or setting it back down.All in all I believe Mr. Pen makes the best stencil set for the money. I have to say that stencils can make drawing more difficult than it needs to be, because it’s easy to become overwhelmed trying to choose exactly the right sized shape. But Mr. Pen has done a good job of simplifying their stencils into the shapes and sizes I need for those tough moments that call for some assistance.Charles

Very nice templates. Edges are smooth and leave a clean line. The various sizes and curves are ideal for my needs. The French curves (green) are a thicker plastic than the circle and square forms (transparent), but both work well and are easy to use. The price point and the quality are excellent and I would recommend if you have a need for this product.

French Curve and Template Ruler Set, 6 Pieces sems decent, however I would've liked to have a storage bag of the sorts for protection.

I just recieved my Mrpen template set and I honestly couldn't be more satisfied. The french curves are in multiple sizes and made of sturdy plastic. The shape templates are made of a thin flexible plastic that are easy to read and have a variety of sizes and will make design work so much easier. I work in several mediums and always start with a series of drawings before I start any project. These are perfect for the details. The french curves are tools I'll use everyday- whether I'm in the planning or prototype stage and definitely in the projects final execution. Well worth the price and a great set for anyone who does any kind of design work.

You can’t beat the price, I don’t know how they can sell this so cheap. Its not Super high quality Pro artist type stuff as far as thick acrylic or similar, but it’s absolutely worth twice the asking price or more and is a huge variety of curves along with the two templates of circles, triangles, hexagons, etc. best bang for the buck in the whole drawing/drafting section!! I don’t use French curves quite as often as other shapes, until now. Lip on edge for sharpie, nice shapes and variety, outstanding price and fairly decent pieces that are thinner than some much more expensive stuff, but not as though they’re fragile or poorly made. I’ll shop at mr. pen again, no doubt. Happy customer!

Description: what I like about this set is that it includes all I needed for my class and my home hobbies. I am a freshman majoring in architecture. I got this set for my visual communication class. I also love sewing and doing DIY projects.The french curves are: 1) thick and heavy enough to lay down flat and don't bow. 2) they can cover small and big details because of the different sizes.The all purpose template and circle template: 1) they are clear colorless. This is the first time I find a transparent and clear template ruler. This make seeing the details on the paper way easier. 2) they bend to the curvature of my paper or surface. Which make it super easy to draw shapes on materials and other uneven surfaces. Like decorating and painting my wine glasses. 3) even though they are flexible they are very rigid.Several other students asked me where I got this set. It looks cool. It works well.

I returned the product because it was missing French curves. What I did see seemed to be sturdy and what I needed but it wasn’t complete
