I am an elementary art teacher and have used these for half a year. So far these are the best pencil sharpeners I have found for kids when you consider function and price. The screw top lid is an important feature for me because typical cheap sharpeners in this price range use a tension grip on the lid that frequently breaks or simply pops off and spills shavings. I have had to fix a few of these by gluing the sharpener back into the lid, but this is an easy fix. I need to emphasize that I teach around 700 kids so my equipment takes abuse.

The entire sharpener component is metal on these, instead of just a razor blade glued to plastic. Much more effective and durable.

They don't last long, but you get what you pay for. The quantity makes up for the quality.They do get your pencil sharp and are easy enough to use. Just 4 stars because they don't last very long

These do a good job sharpening without breaking the lead. Do remember that you need to keep your pencil straight in these, though, to keep them from breaking. With six of them, you can keep one for colored pencils, one for graphite pencils, one for daily pencils, etc. As a small manual sharpener, you can carry it to class easily and it fits into many pencil boxes.Do recommend for this level of sharpener.

I really wasn’t expecting much from these pencil sharpeners based on the inexpensive price but I am actually really impressed! They sharpen both pencils and crayons and they work better than my electric pencil sharpener! My kids find them very easy to use and to empty on their own. Plus it came with so many that if one happens to crack or break we have plenty of backups (however I don’t expect that to happen). I have a first grader and a fourth grader (both boys) who are really rough on school supplies and these sharpeners have stood up to their abuse for 4 months already (even traveling back and forth between school in person and virtual school at home every other week. (I paid full price for this item and did not receive any kind of discount or free gift for leaving my review! This was my honest opinion as a mom who depends on other people’s reviews to choose products and wanted to contribute the same)

I bought these sharpeners for each of my first grade students. I had hoped this would save us a lot of time throughout the year. Once a student dropped his/her sharpener, the black plastic circle piece popped off, and the sharpener blades would fall out of the "case." This is a safety issue and it would let shavings fall out and dirty up students' supply boxes. The sharpener still worked, but this became quite a hassle. The points of pencils often get jammed in the sharpener, which required more problem solving. The screw on top was great for keeping the shavings contained, but could be difficult at times. Next year, I will be shopping around for a better alternative.

I show these sharpeners off! As a math teacher, this has helped me sharpen pencils without the disruption of an electrical sharpener. I love the different colors and how fast it sharpens the pencils! The twist on cap was the biggest feature that sold me, it definitely makes it nearly impossible for any spillage inside your bag.
