Maytag Atlantis Transmission Gear (REPLACEMENT). Arrived in good time, Looks like it would work great. Only one problem, I could not get the 2 transmission halves to separate. I finally gave up after breaking one of the ears off as I was afraid I would break the tranny case otherwise. My transmission case has a split seam, it is not one with the fold over tabs which I am sure would be a lot easier to get apart. Mine has some darn tough sealant holding it together. I cannot hold that against the sellers of this gear.

The gear on our MAYTAG Washing Machine MODEL NO. SAV4655EWW was totally stripped and no longer usable. We ordered this MTC 20234 / Maytag Atlantis Transmission Gear ($9.51 Feb 2025) but it did not fit. The gear is well made but just does not work for our washing machine. This gear has 22 teeth the original gear has 20 teeth. It would have been great if the seller carried the same gear that is required for our machine.We ended up purchasing Maytag transmission 27001039 elsewhere (for approx. $150). Pricier than what we wanted to spend however this insures that all the gears are new and we hope to be able to use our non-“smart†washing machine for another 20+ years. We are elated to be able to continue to enjoy all it has to offer including the full size agitator, all analog (non-digital non-electronic) controls including the ability to control the water level and no door lock …etc Plus now we do not need to read a book on how to operate a new washing machine that was far inferior to the one we have. One less quality machine in the landfill.

Likes: it was very inexpensive and allowed me to fix my older Maytag washer.Dislikes: where the gear drops down onto a four lug gear in the bottom of the trans mission, it fit too tight. I was afraid to pound on it to make it go on. So I used a Dremel with a disc wheel to dress it down slightly to fit down better. I think otherwise it will work ok. I gave it 4 stars since the bottom lugs were too tight. But it works -so far.

I had to trim a little bit , I used an utility knife to trim the gear , and I'm a happy customer , fixed my problem for my maytag atlantis , easy to install . Will order again 16 years from know , that's how old my maytag is today ,
