I work from home. This is a recent change and I have always had two monitors at work. I am not allowed to take the monitors home. I bought one large monitor for most of my work, but I have a database open at all times that I refer to frequently throughout the day. This is usually parked on the second monitor. I did not want to invest more money of my own on a second monitor. I have an old monitor that has been gathering dust for years. It has the old 15-pin connector and my laptop and lapdock are not compatible. This saved the day. The monitor works fine and I did not have to invest but a small amount of money for this adapter!

Installed on a server whose motherboard only has digital outputs. I am using a Raritan USB "DCIM" IP-KVM adapter with a VGA plug - the HDMI versions of these adapters are much more expensive.VGA output works perfectly without any changes, and the system can be shut down and restarted, with VGA coming up every time (some adapters sometimes need to be unplugged and plugged in again for the VGA output to happen - maybe I'm just lucky).Compared to the native HDMI, the converted VGA seems a trifle fuzzy, but this is completely OK as this is for server maintenance only and not for production workstation use, and for the price, it's just great. I bought a couple of these for my toolbox, so I have them on hand as needed.

It works as described, just make sure that you plug together real tight or it won't work. The resolution is good and doesn't drag or anything.

I wanted to use this product to connect my Desktop to my Insignia TV. It appears that even when the VGA cable is not connected to the adapter, the adapter sends an input signal into the TV (meaning the HDMI port would be clickable). However when clicked on (when the VGA cable was connected to the adapter), there was no signal. This product did not work, and it is not a faulty tv or vga cable or desktop, as all three worked with different devices shortly after testing this product. I intend on returning it hope this brand either sends me one that works, or another brand does.

This adapter was plug and play for me, connecting the full-size HDMI port on my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon with my older Dell monitor with a VGA port. I've used it an average of 16 hours a day for a couple of weeks with no problem. The 8" cord is long enough to get the body of the adapter away from the various other cords and flash drives I have plugged-in to that side of my laptop, without being so long as to add to the mess of cables on my desk. No complaints.

Mediocre. Connectors worked on both ends but would not screw on correctly for a good fit causing occasional blackouts.

My old CCTV NVR failed after nearly 10 years of service. Having purchased a new one, I found they no longer have a VGA socket. Rather than purchase a new monitor as well, I purchased this adaptor. A very cheap and effective solution to keep using a very old monitor with modern equipment.
