I installed these strings on my old mandolin and am very happy with them. They sound very good and they actually stay in tune! Once I installed them, I stretched them for a few seconds and tuned them to pitch. Came back 2 hours later and they were very nearly still in perfect tune! I've never had new strings that didn't need a few tunings to get them to settle down prior to playing. I like these and will most likely get more of them in the future. A good choice if you are not a wealthy working professional mandolin player.

Well you dont want to get the string wrapped around itself . Because that wont allow for any slippage and your string will come unwound and break. I know of three stings that have come unwound at the bridge loop and I know of one which was looped around itself at the machine head. But the other two were strung propperly. So Im not sure if those two strings were faulty or not . Im thinking that they were. But I couldnt tell you positively.

I ordered a package of three sets. On the first set, I strung them up, tuned to pitch, played for about 5 minutes, and string 1 (high E) broke for seemingly no reason.I took one from the second set and started stringing it up - it broke before I even got up to pitch.Tried again, and the same exact thing happened.I've never had problems with strings breaking before. Also, all three high E strings broke in a different place each time, so it's highly unlikely that it has something to do with the mandolin (besides the fact that, like I said, I've never had issues before using these strings.Do not buy!

Three packs of strings and not a single e string would reach proper tuning before snapping I done the whole process everyone on here said to do and they still broke. Might as well just flush your money down the toilet and they sound awful the ones that have been tuned

I have a few mandolins that sit at home and are not played that often. These strings are perfect for linger term storage - remember to detune at least a step down to decrease tension when you store it!

I love these strings. The sound is so pretty. They feel so comfortable and easy to play. I can't find light strings in our shops. I was delighted to find these online. Unfortunately the loop broke when tuning up one of the high E strings.Rating is 5 Star on everything else!
