This is a review of “OFG Products Musical Storm Tube Instrument for Teens and Adults - See the Lightning and Feel the Thunder with the Storm Tube! Motion Activated with 4 Color Modes.â€I already have a different version of a storm tube in my music classroom. It’s a favorite and the students hope they’ll get to play it. It’s particularly fun when we do a storyscape (we accompany the story with instruments). I knew this storm tube would be a welcomed addition because more students would get an opportunity to play. This tube is extra fun because of the changing lights which my other tube doesn't have. To turn it on, you just move a slider to the “on†position. There is a mode button that when pressed changes the colors from intermittent color flashes of green, red, or blue. The final mode has the different colors cycling, but constantly on. For closest proximity to lightning, the intermittent blue works best, in my opinion. When shaken, the sound is slightly quieter than my other tube, but that’s okay for a small music classroom. The tube is made of hard plastic and should be durable. The long spring attaches (with glue) to a small disk of thin plastic that covers the bottom. It’s an amazing demonstration of sound waves as they move through the spring into the disk when shaken and then are amplified in the tube.

I was so excited to get this only to open it and find it broken.

I bought two of these. The first one arrived and although made great sound broke after about an hour and the lights never worked. The second arrived broken where the spring attaches. So we got about 1 hour of enjoyment out of it. The spring attachment is very fragile, but considering what it does that’s somewhat understandable, but it is unacceptable that both arrived broken.Fun toy, just wouldn’t recommend it.

This thing is so fun! The lights aren’t super bright but they are cool in the dark. The sound is loud and there are so many ways to use it. Just shaking it is the best but you can bang the tail on a table or wall, pull your fingers across it, flick it. I would not say it’s hours of fun but definitely something we aren’t going to just put in the bottom of the toy box and forget

My mom used to have a toy/instrument very similar to this. Hers was louder and much larger, more like a coffee can, and it was called a Thunder Tube. It really sounded like thunder, and it was so much fun to play with, so I was so excited to see this Storm Tube here on Amazon! I immediately ordered it. It's a lot of fun, and definitely sounds like a storm...some of the time. The sounds it produces aren't as deep or resonant as my mom's Thunder Tube, probably because it's so much smaller than the other. There is also a plastic film over one end that rattles when I shake the tube. It sounds very tinny and is really frustrating because it almost ruins the storm sounds I am trying to make. The lights are a cool addition, but they're unnecessary, in my opinion. All in all, this is a fun toy, perfect for a party or a festival, but the rattle nearly spoils the stormy sound. Still, I am giving it four stars because it's a lot of fun for fifteen bucks.

Bought a storm tube. Lights did not work. Requested return. They sent me a new one. Lights still don't work. Very disappointing as I bought for a special ed class. Visual input important for some.

It's absolutely great. Doesn't sound like a storm so much but it does sound like something alien and otherworldly. Great way to prank your crazy neighbors, living in a remote desert community next to several known areas of alien visitors, this really gets them riled up on dark, moonless nights.
