The zinc alloy metal ones an and will strip. Usually just before you go on stage, on the night you decided to not bring your spare guitar. This is an really good choice if you're keeping your stock nut and stressing the lock on the E & A strings. You can also get slightly longer screws from your local hardware store. I use both on my hot rodded Strats. Longer screws+steel block= problem solved.

My old nut screws are stripped on a new inexpensive guitar, if you know you know.... so this one was a perfect replacement. I measured the original one on my guitar and it was 42.85mm which is R3. I looked everywhere for that size on Amazon, all I found were 42mm and 43mm with the original FR part costing 3x as much.. I was hoping this one fit although it said 43mm and R3... I measured it when I got it. 42.8mm.. perfect.I'm giving it 4 stars because the advertising is misleading.. should say 42.8mm and as another review said, the package said 35mm... pic of package included in this review.Tested and works flawlessly, dive bomb and stays in tune ;)

I picked up a used Jackson RR3 that some joker installed a very wrong sized nut on. I have about 5 Floyd nuts sitting around but none of them fit right so I took a chance on this one. The width, string spacing and 1st fret action are pretty darn spot-on. That never happens. I filled and drilled new holes and the included screws were fine. I was prepared to have to route the shelf but am thrilled that it was an easy install.

Get better mounting screws because the ones they provide completely suck. Now I have to figure out how to get these out.

Received this nut expecting a drop in replacement. Upon attempted mounting, I discovered that mounting holes were significantly off center, setting the nut to the right when mounted. Left mounting hole was appropriately set, right mounting hole was set too far left rendering this item unusable.

Absolutely Badass fixed the problem I was having with the cheaper metal alloy that stripped in 2 turns = this is the one you NEED!!!

This isn't being used for anything right now; just grabbed as a spare. Like the other one i ordered; the screw threads are super tight and need to wear in.The listing says replacement for R3, which would be correct.Radius listed is 12"; be aware that orig FR radius is 10". I'm not sure most people would notice the difference but you might have to shim (or remove material), depending on what you're putting this on.The package it comes in says "35mm" lol. I'm not sure about that but i measured with calipers and it's def 43mm.

Llegó antes de tiempo, pero la pieza es recta no curva como el diapasón de la guitarra, así que la tercera y cuarta cuerda prácticamente pegan en los trastes.

It does not have the measurements of an R3 Locking Nut. The height is not correct, this one is shorter. As for the quality, Looks to me the same as the material used by the Floyd Rose Special

Finish is nice and it is a direct replacement for the locking nuts used on Made in Japan Jackson guitars. Floyd Rose Original and 1000/Special nuts are too tall to use without modifications.Includes the wrench, screws and a guitar pick. The "clamps" are a bit shorter than what you'd find on a genuine Floyd Rose lock nut and the nut piece is visibly made of two pieces of metal (unlike the genuine nuts which appear to be a single piece, or are finished in a way to hide it being two pieces). Time will tell how it holds up, but I doubt I'll have any issues and the price is right on.
