I needed a longer patch cable to run underneath my board to connect my bottom row to the top. I had a straight patch but the wire hanging beyond the boundary of my smaller pedal board made me crazy. This one more than does the job and feels sturdy as hell.

I have two of these and I run them from the left side of the first row on my pedalboard to the right side of the second row, and then the same again with the second and third rows. It depends on the length of pedalboard you have,but these 3' cables are the perfect fit for me. I can tuck them in under the board so there is no mess. 2' would have been too short and 4 'would have been messy. Measure your boards and then make sure you leave enough slack so you can still hide the cable and aren't stretched right out. Also these pancake jacks are great for pedalboards. I wouldn't go back. They leave so much extra space than the standard jacks. That is all I buy now.
