I got it for my friend for his birthday and he really liked it. The customization came out great. The curing process took a while but it worked. I don’t think he had any issues with leakage, but at the very least it’s a great decoration.

This is my second purchase of a 2 liter barrel. I purchased this unit to replace another vendor's barrel that fell apart after about the 5th use. I am using the barrel to age Rye Manhattans. After two weeks in the barrel (first aging), I'm pleased to say that this barrel appears to be of much better quality that others out there. I received the barrel, filled it with hot water (to season the barrel) for 24 hours, and there were no leaks. The next day I filled it with the Manhattan recipe, and now, 2 weeks later, I am enjoying the first batch of aged product. The next batch will season for 3 weeks, and so on.What I appreciate also is the personalization of having my name on the barrel, as well as the quality of build of the barrel. As an example, the top stopper has a rubber piece that coats the wood stopper that fits into the top of the barrel, eliminating any air leaks. This barrel also has six (6) barrel bands instead of four of other barrels. Nicely made.

This is a gift for my 85 year old friend. The barrel is put together well and the laser engraving looks good. I have a barrel like this that I have used for 4 years before it finally gave up the ghost with one of the hoops rusting and breaking. I had forgotten how good they look when new!I would not hesitate to suggest this product for someone who likes a little snort of whiskey or as a gift.

The cast arrived in excellent shape. I have almost finished the curing process with no leaks emanating from the cask, however, the spigot has a very slow drip. Not a problem with water in the cask but, I do not want my whiskey dripping out of the spigot. If the seller is reading this review, can you send me another spicot or advise how I can stop the drips?UPDATE: I did my final curing of the cask last evening. There is no problem with the spigot. I moved the valve around to different positions and when I checked it this morning. NO LEAKS. I just finished filling it with whiskey. I am excited to see what we get over the next 15 to 20 days.

Wrong label and poorly made. Nice barrel but bad personalization. Says distillery where should say and advertised to say barrel aged

Love it! I used a butane torch to burn the outside and sealed it with wood cutting board conditioner. The result? My barrel looks like it was recovered from the Black Pearl. Also, I added torched oak wood chips to my whiskey, hoping it will enhance the flavor. Will report back later!
