I bought a 1/2 inch rake to use in painting watercolors. They are not easy to find, and it works beautifully for tornadoes, beach grass, ribbon effects, baskets and cacti. I also liked that it didn't get overloaded with paint, yet I could create a nice effect of darker and lighter areas when painting bushes and shrubbery. Very well made, very soft.. Still experimenting.

I love these things, they're the main brush that I use, they hold together really well, the bristles don't separate at the base very easily, the point stays for a long time with proper care and for painting miniatures they're good for general basing and detail work.

I bought 6 brushes from Pegasus Guild and paid over 7 dollars a piece. Three had the brush head lose and could fall off. I found out too late to return. Of course. I saw good report about them thinking the would be worth the money. Guess what you can't always take what other say. Very disappointed with bad workmanship. I had to give them one start to post this but I didn't want to.

I received this as a bonus w MyArtscape acrylic paints. I have never painted before (although I grew up with an an artist mother), but I think this is a pretty good quality brush.

I bought the #4 Fan brush. To start with it's actually a #3 and is labeled as such on the handle but that's not big deal since every manufacturer seems to have their own sizing. What was a problem was that the ferrule was loose when I removed it from the packaging--turning back and forth about 45 degrees. It was loose enough that it moved while testing it on paper with plain water.There was also a 1/4" gap in the bristles on one side that was caused by the bristles not being distributed evenly when it was initially crimped. I realize that as a fan brush it's going to have gaps between bristles most of the time it's loaded with paint but always having a 1/4" gap in the same spot isn't the look I want.Other than these two problems it was fine as a low cost brush. If it was just the loose ferrule I'd pop it off and re-glue it but with the bristles the way they are I'm returning it.

Surprised how good this is! Does not splay and washes well. When reshaped after wash and left to dry, maintains shape well. Good value for money. I use it for oil painting. Gets into a good chistle edge when loaded with paint. I quite like this brush.

This 3/4 angle brush came with a very loose ferrule and so I'm dubious about MyArtscape's claim to 'rigorous' quality control. At this price I would have expected better quality as I have bought a 5-set of taklon brushes for pennies more on Amazon. I was wanting to complete a painting that needed this so am doubly frustrated.
