So I've used clay for the past 15 years and have been plenty happy with the results. Yes you have to kneed and keep and eye on the clay's dirtiness and throw it away at some point, but the clay has always done the job and at a cheaper price point. So I finally took the plunge and gave this Autoscrub towel a try. I used it with Prima Hydro diluted to a 1:6 with water as lube. One might ask why use Prima Hydro rather than a dedicated clay lube? Well Nanoskin suggest using a product they sell called nanoshock as an alternate lube which is a lube/instant sealer all in one. Prima Hydro is an instant spray sealer too so I tired it and it worked as a lube for the towel. The results: The finish came out super slick and it easily removed paint overspray and environmental contaminants. I did (3) cars in one afternoon, as it was just so much fun to feel the results. The products works quicker than clay and a would dare say that I "feel" it actually did a better job. Plus The product still looks like usable. No idea how long I will be able to use it before having to throw it out.All in all I've been converted. Will be replacing clay with Autoscrub in my personal detailing toolbox!Yeah its more expensive than clay but from my early testing and mfg. claims, this product's lifespan should ultimately make it less expensive than clay in a cost/use scenario.

As the name says, it is "handy!" It's a convenient size, nearly as flexible as a standard clay bar, and removes contaminates as well as other synthetic clay pads or mitts costing twice as much. The only thing I have that beats it is Meguiar's professional clay bar. I see why another Scott (from Texas) recommended it... a very useful product for all but the most stubborn contaminates. (I used it with Nanoskin Glide diluted between 7 to 1 and 5 to 1. I had a little trouble with dragging & marring at the recommended 7 to 1, but that was probably user error! I've also seen videos of using these towels, mitts or discs with car soap. I tried that & the performance was way worse. It basically took off little to none of the embedded contaminates, & I had to redo the whole vehicle using the Towel with the Glide.) This is a highly recommended product.

If you have never used a clay towel and are still using a clay bar you need to make the switch immediately. I detail cars on the side and this towel has made my life very easy! I love how long these towels last, the effectiveness these provide to the paint and the fact that you can drop it on the floor and still use it! These towels are the best investment for anybody that wants a glass like smoothness to their paint and very simple to use.One thing to note if you are new to these, make sure you use plenty of lubrication. If you don't, you will risk marring the paint. I use Optimum No Rinse to wash my cars and as a lubrication as I use this towel. The results are outstanding. Additionally, apply very light pressure as you use this and never do lowers on your car until you are finished with the rest of the car.

This is a fairly SMALL towel. It's 7 inches square and the synthetic clay part is probably 6 inches square. That being said, it is useful and I have actually done an entire car using just this little clay towel for decontamination. If your trying to save a buck or two, you can do an entire car with it. Just take your time and use plenty of Glide (Clay towel lube). Another option is use your car wash soap as your clay lube, wash your car, then dip the clay towel into the solution and start rubbing across your paint lightly. Always keep the towel wet and ensure you frequently dip into the solution to keep it gliding easily with the soap. If it doesn't glide smoothly you don't have enough solution on the towel or the paint. Never use it dry or you'll ruin the towel and scratch the heck out of your paint. These work with a lubricating solution (Glide or a soapy solution). I would actually recommend the CLAY MITT before this tiny towel (It's a 1/3 the size of a clay mitt) or a larger clay towel or clay sponge) or even better the AUTOSCRUB clay disc on a DA polisher. That's the fastest and most effective way to "clay" your vehicle. Autoscrub and Glide. You can't go wrong. But on a budget, this little towel can get the job done. It will just take you longer to complete.

I like this better than a clay bar personally. It’s easy to use.

As others have said, it marrs the paint surface, resulting in the need to polish the vehicle. Does not replace clay bar as an a quality clay bar does not mar the paint.

This may seem expensive, but when you consider the price of clay... This is reusable and is MUCH... MUCH easier to use than clay. It is worth the money and does an excellent job! You won't be disappointed.
