The Basic G flute is our most popular key. It is a medium sized flute which is suitable for people with medium to large size hands. If you have smaller hands or aren’t sure about fit, take a look at our key of A flute which is quite a lot smaller than the G, or send me a message and I will help you choose the correct size.
This flute has a soothing voice (once you get past the squeaking faze of learning!). In the picture of three flutes together, it is the size of the one in the middle. It is a great choice for beginners with medium to large sized hands and experienced musicians alike.
Our Basic G flutes are made from unstained western red cedar and come in a wide range of warm gold and brown colors. The color of the wood may vary from the photos. All of our Basic flutes are made from the highest quality western red cedar. This is a softwood, which means that it is light in weight which gives the instrument a resonance (subtle vibration) that you can feel in your hands as you play. It is a highly sought after wood for flutes for this reason.
Please keep in mind that it may take some time and practice to play the flute as smoothly as I do in the video, but with the resources included in the flute package, and patience from the player (and their house mates and pets) you will learn to play just as beautifully.
The scale this flute features is easy to learn and lends itself to improvising (making up free style music). You don’t need to read sheet music to learn this instrument and you don’t need any prior experience with music to learn to play the flute.
This is a six hole Native American style flute tuned to 440hz, universal concert tuning. It features a removable block to allow for easy condensation removal and proper drying after playing.
It comes with a handmade, black polar fleece flute bag with a durable nylon shoulder strap and a leather drawstring closure.

Choosing the right flute
Pictured you will see our three keys of Basic flute. As flutes move down in pitch they get bigger and the fingering holes get further apart and further down on the flute body. This means the lower flutes are harder to play.
The key of A is our smallest and highest pitched of all three basic flutes, it is also the best choice for someone with smaller hands or someone who has limited flexibility. Many Flute classes will request you start with this key.
The Key of G is the middle sized Basic flute. It is our most popular key because of its soothing voice. Most people can easily play this key with some practice.
The key of F# (F sharp) is our lowest key of Basic flute. This means that it is also the hardest to play. The fingering hole stretch on the F# can be uncomfortable for people with smaller hands or people who have never played an instrument before.

This native American flute looks and sounds beautiful. It came with a very nice fleece carrying bag, and small instruction book. A bit pricey, but it was a Christmas present to myself.

The shipping was faster than advertised but that may be because I live in the next state over from the seller. The flute is nice but I honestly cannot compare it to anything else as it's my first flute. Out of many options I decided to go with Stellar Flutes because of their reputation and I wanted an actual instrument instead of a toy.The tuning is on point. I tested all keys upon arrival with my synth and piano and it plays in harmony with other flutes in the same G key I found on YouTube to play along with. Extremely easy to learn to play. Granted I play keyboard and a guitar but this is my first ever experience with a wind instrument and I was able to get the basics down within minutes of practice. The booklet that came with it was very informative to get the basics down.Couple of critical remarks:1) The case that comes with it is nice but is overpriced (adds $20 to the order) and it's not very protective as it's soft. You can probably find a better case for it here on Amazon for about the same amount.2) The block and the leather strap that holds the block down are nice but I would make it easier to adjust with a moving knot at the bottom as some other (even cheaper) makers do. After playing for just a few minutes the condensation builds up which affects the sound and you need to "clear" the flute. After looking into it I learned that this is normal with all Native flutes. However, the fact that you need to untie the strap to remove the block to dry it takes time and wiggling around to tie it back on and re-adjust it into place which is awkward and takes getting used to. Having a knot tie at the bottom for quick release and reposition would make this a lot easier and quicker considering that you need to "blow" the moisture out rather frequently. I must say though that the leather strap tie for the block is very good and holds the block in place with just one simple knot without loosening.Overall I am happy with this flute. I can tell it's a quality instrument and not a toy. The sound is very pleasant and there's just something about playing it. The whole experience sort of envelops you in some "zen" mode. I've had it for almost a month and have been playing it everyday since i got it. It is a pleasure to play. If you're considering buying a flute then you can't go wrong with this one.

I ordered 2 of these flutes, one in the key of G. one in the key of A. NEVER got the one in key of A.Only got half of the order.The one i did get is excellent, very well made, workmanship is perfect, very happy with it.

If you’re looking for a flute, this is the place to go! I ordered one for my husband and he wanted an “F†flute, but somehow we got the “G†flute. So I reached out to the seller hoping they could remedy the situation and my experience with their customer service was stellar (no pun intended, lol). What a wonderful experience, which is not a common thing to say these days. They were so kind, understanding and made the situation right by sending the correct flute. The quality of the flute is exceptional. My husband has never played the flute before, but recently took an interest, so he’d done his research and decided on one from this seller. They even enclose a little booklet on getting started and honestly, I couldn’t believe it was my husband playing the flute! It was amazing! The texture and color of the flute is just beautiful and the sound is authentic, crisp and clean. Great products are so exciting to come by and team that up with great customer service equals a total win-win!

I love this Flute. It looks even better in person. I just received it yesterday afternoon. It came earlier then I expected. At first I was worried because the end of the box was dented on the bottom. When I opened the box it was packed very carefully with lots of paper all around the box filing up all of the empty spaces. It was inside the bag which also probably helped it to be safe. I have never played a flute before but every so often I have my fingers covering the holes perfectly and I will get a couple of really nice sounding notes. I am 80 years old and I love all kinds of music. I find that Lily’s videos are helping me a lot in understanding what my Flute should sound like and also how to put my fingers in the correct way on the holes. I also found a video showing me how to make sure the Block is straight and in the right place. The Block came off yesterday and I was nervous for a few minutes until I found Lily’s video on how to put it on and I knew I bought my first Flute from the right company. They seem to really care that their customers have all the help that they need in order to learn to play the flute and enjoy the beautiful music that it makes. If I could I would give them 10 stars for the quality of the flute, the care that they used in wrapping it and shipping it and for the videos that help us to better understand how to play the flute so that we can create our own songs.

Nothing but robots from any support. Still no flute and not spending an hour on the phone talking to robots that give me the same nothing info. HIGHLY SUGGEST NOT using Amazon for these kind a of purchases. Great fluke maker, go directly to the maker. UPS and Amazon could care less…
